This month, we explored the fascinating history of agriculture, which provided us with a foundational understanding of how agricultural practices have evolved over time. This exploration helped us connect history to our discussions on contemporary Ag. Tech. We also learned about the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and discussed how these goals inform and guide us in our design of innovative agricultural technology, providing the perfect segway into our lessons on the engineering design process.
Students in Home Economics completed their sewing projects. 8th graders made a neck pillow and the 6th graders made a felt wallet. They are now learning about measuring tools and measuring techniques.
Teen Health students completed their Media Ready Counter Ad project. Students chose an original ad that was promoting an alcohol or tobacco product. They then had to create an ad countering the orignial ad - pointing out the negatives about the product.

6th Grade: Just finished up their Scale model Dream House/Apocalypse Bunker. Buildings taught basic measurements and how to build to scale. This is the most taxing project and takes the longest amount of time. Students did a great job.
7th Grade: Just finished up their Batman tech project. Students needed to make a futuristic device that would help fight crime. Devices needed to have two working electrical components that can be turned off and on with a switch.
8th: Just finished their wooden paper towel holder project. Students got to choose their own design and after drafting it out on paper they transported it on to wood. Students were then taksed with using their artistic talents to bring their creation to life with paint.
The Chorus classes are gearing up for our Winter Concert which will be held on Thursday, December 12 at 6:00 PM in the WMS Auditorium. 8th grader, Maylana Villaluz says, "My favorite song for winter concert is 'That's Christmas to Me' because of the sweet tone and when we all sing together it will sound lovely. Most of all, when we sing together the music, the setting makes everything so amazing, like a swan just opening its angelic wings." 7th grader Kylie Kane says "My favorite song for winter concert is 'Agnus Dei' because it's really pretty, and I think the harmonizing is gonna sound great." We hope you will all attend!!

Our Math Learning Lab students have been busy deepening their understanding of multiplication and division of fractions, ratios and proportions, and area. Math was in action in our lab with hands-on learning , visual representations, and math conversations. By focusing on the "why" behind the math, our students have grown so much as mathematicians. Students reasoned, explained, and owned their learning!
