Language Arts

Cricket in Times Square:

  1. Reread Chapter 6 out-loud. Practice stopping at periods and reading with expression, either to yourself or to a sibling.

  2. Complete the STRUCTURED RESPONSE Chapter 6 to the left. Summarize the story of HSI Shuai. You can use the FIRST, THEN, NEXT, FINALLY strategy or any others that we learned this year to write your summary.

  3. Complete the Author's purpose prompt at the bottom of the sheet. You can write out both the summary and the Author's purpose on a sheet of loose leaf paper.

Spelling Unit 27- These are spelling words with suffix er. Complete spelling workbook pages 178-181. Please send a photo/ scan of your completed work to alevitt@jkha.org Write a spelling story with at least 6 of your spelling words. The story is due on Thursday.

Research- Write a quick outline (see below) for beginning and middle life for your biography research report. TS is a topic sentence and CS is concluding sentence. Finish up your research on late life.

During our phone conferences this week we will focus on topic sentences for your outlines. Each section will need its own outline.
