A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
I want to thank everyone for their patience and understanding as we worked together through a difficult situation at our school this week. We were able to follow all district and safety protocols to determine there was no credible threat and we will continue to do so when confronted with these types of situations. Thank you for following up with your students about the importance of sharing concerns directly with school staff and staying grounded in the truth and facts as rumors can cause disruption. The safety of our staff and students continues to be our top priority and I am grateful for the partnership and support from our community.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION for FAMILIES
If you are picking your student up midday, it is very helpful if you call ahead preferably before 2pm. This gives us time to send a pass for the student and have them in the office when you arrive. It may take up to 20 minutes to retreive your student if they are not called in ahead of time.
If students are checked out early and miss class they are responsible for making up all missed material. The best action a student can take when they know they'll have an early release is to let the teacher know in advance (preferably 24hrs) and make a plan with that teacher.
Save the Date: The Fall Social will be held on Monday, October 30th from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Click this link for more details. We are in need of parent volunteers for crowd control and to help run the events. If you are available, please reach out to Ms. Johnson at miajohns@jeffco.k12.co.us
We are also in need of donations of bags of candy and baked goods for the social (if not store bought, please include a list of ingredients). Baked goods can be dropped on the morning of October 28. Bagged candy can be dropped off at anytime, please just make sure all items are clearly marked with Fall Social on them and given to the front office.
PLEASE NOTE THAT STUDENTS WITH 2+ F'S WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE SOCIAL.

What Parents Should Know About Bullying: A Two-Part Article
Bullying includes behaviors such as hitting, teasing, taunting, spreading rumors and gossip, stealing, and excluding someone from a group. Bullying actions are carried out on purpose with the intent to harm someone.
A group of parents is supporting a fundraising drive to purchase a new sound board for our school's auditorium. We are halfway toward our goal. If you would like to donate to the cause or get involved, please contact Laurel Wicke at Laurel.Wicke@jeffco.k12.co.us. All donations are tax deductable.
