This program is designed to support students in managing anxiety and improving their well-being. Please take a look at this parent Information presentation to find out more about what students will learn in the group. Second Step Lessons are back!
FOR 8TH GRADE
All 8th grade students will be attending a field trip to Skate City for a STEM lesson on the "Science Behind Hockey". The dates of the trip are 11/8 and 11/11. In this lesson students will learn how STEM plays a large part in sports, specifically hockey. They will learn how three different kinds of motion can make a difference in the outcome of the game. Students will also attempt to shoot a puck into a net with a couple different types of hockey sticks. This lesson covers science topics such as physics, probability, and angular/projectile/linear motion. Students will also have free skate/arcade time in order to build community and have some fun with their peers! Every 8th grader must have permission to attend!hFe
