IMPORTANT INFORMATION for FAMILIES
Our North Area Middle School Career Fair was a HUGE success! There were over 20 industries represented including higher education, medical and emergency fields, construction and the legal field.
All of Drake's 7th and 8th graders spent time during Social Studies classes talking with industry representatives and learning about different options for life after school.
We are so thankful for our staff members who organized the event and for all of the volunteers who spent the day with our students. Ask your student to see their "Career Fair passport" and talk with them about what they learned!
Leadership will be hosting our second social of the school year. It will be held at Drake on Thursday, February 15 from 5:30-7:00pm. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Michelle Johnson at michelle.johnson2@jeffco.k12.co.us. Any students with 2+ F's will not be able to attend the social.
See this document for more information about the social!
Registration for Track & Field and Soccer opens on February 19th! Be sure to visit the Skyhawks website soon as they will start to upload important information. Both seasons begin the week of March 25th.

In addition, if you have one or more students at the same school, please take the survey thinking about your oldest student enrolled. Be sure to select the submit button at the end of the survey so your responses are captured. The survey will remain open until Friday, February 23.
The survey is anonymous and will take approximately 15–20 minutes to complete. Results will be used to improve our district and your student(s) learning environment. You can view previous survey results under the School Culture tab.

COMMUNITY INFORMATION
A research study is being conducted by a senior attending Arvada West High School as part of his AP Research class. He is requesting our help in getting participants between the ages of 11-18. This requires parental/guardian involvement for students under the age of 18. All of these opportunities are voluntary. All student information will be kept confidential.
Mark Redford is looking to see the impact of age on the perception of music. Mark's survey entails listening to chords and assigning a rating. If you prefer your student not to participate, that is completely up to you. If your student may participate, we are asking that you work through the survey with them, so that we know they have your permission. This survey will take 5 minutes.
If interested and willing to participate, please join the Google Classroom @ qu3a2xe
