PANORAMA EDUCATION FAMILY SURVEY
DRAKE PARENTS!!
As a new Principal, your voice and feedback would be so helpful in helping me determine areas of opportunity here at Drake, as well as areas to celebrate!! Please take time tonight to fill out the family survey to make sure your voice is heard! The window closes TONIGHT AT MIDNIGHT. I am hoping to have at least 60% participation- we currently have 26%. Thank you again!

We want to hear from you! Panorama Education is conducting our annual family survey to provide us with benchmarking against national norms. We encourage you to complete this survey about your experience with your student(s) school. If you have multiple students at various schools, please complete one for each student. In addition, if you have one or more students at the same school, please take the survey thinking about your oldest student enrolled. Be sure to select the submit button at the end of the survey so your responses are captured. The survey will remain open until Friday, February 23.
The survey is anonymous and will take approximately 15–20 minutes to complete. Results will be used to improve our district and your student(s) learning environment. You can view previous survey results under the School Culture tab.

Day Without Hate Shirt deadline extension
Day Without Hate T-shirts for 2024 are now available to order! They extended the due date! Please print this Day Without Hate order form, fill it out, and have your student bring the order form and payment to their Advisement teacher by Tuesday, March 12th. All proceeds go to the DWOH Scholarship that is only available to Jeffco students. Day Without Hate Order Form
CMAS Schedule and Details
From day to day during CMAS, students will have different schedules. Please be sure to check the daily schedule for information on what days you student will attend school and which days that will not. Please be sure you student's charge their devices daily, and if they have any damage to their device, have them see Ms. Chubb in the Library. Thank you for your help in ensuring this goes smoothly. If you have any questions, please contact the assessment coordinator, Sean Hoorelbeke at sean.hoorelbeke@jeffco.k12.co.us.

Community Closet In Need of Donations
Drake has started a Community Closet that any student can access for a wide array of personal hygiene supplies, clothing, and school necessities free of charge.
We are happy to accept donations of gently used or new clothes! Donations can be dropped off in the front office. Just let the front desk know it is a donation for the community closet. Here is what we are low on in the closet:
Pants & shorts: kids sizes
Socks: all sizes
Shoes: kids sizes
Lost and Found
We will be cleaning out the lost and found on the Monday after Spring Break. Students should check the lost and found for any lost items by end of day on March 18th. Anything left in the lost and found after Spring Break will either be donated or thrown away.
There are quite a few coats, notebooks/binders, water bottles, and miscellaneous items. Please encourage your student to check for any missing items!

Mr. Hoorelbeke will be returning from Paternity Leave on Monday! We are so thankful for Mr. Elliott's support over the past month, and I know the 6th grade kids and teachers are excited to see Mr. Hoorelbeke!

Social Studies Classes- Civil War Unit
As a part of the Civil War Unit the 8th grade teachers are planning to show the award-winning movie Glory right after Spring Break (beginning on March 27th). Glory tells the story of the first all African American volunteer regiment fighting for the Union after the Emancipation Proclamation. The movie is based on the personal letters of the Unit commander Robert Shaw. Glory is rated R due to battle violence and intermittent language. If you prefer your student not watch the movie, an alternate assignment will be given for the days we are watching.
If you do not want your student to watch Glory in class please email their U.S. History teacher before Wednesday, March 27th.

We are so excited to start offering Hazel Health session opportunities during the school day! Hazel Health is an optional support students/families can participate in to get free telehealth support. Drake has partnered with Hazel Health to offer sessions during the school day to make it more accessible to all families. TEACHER AND STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK
Teacher and Staff appreciation week is Monday May 6th through Friday May 10th, and with your help, the Drake PTO is going to appreciate the heck out of our Drake teachers and staff!. If you're able, please donate any amount to help us with all the appreciation events throughout the week. Anything you donate will go to showing the entire staff THEY ROCK! All funds donated will be applied to the Teacher Appreciation event costs. Thank you for all you do and let's have a great finish to the school year.

Wish your student a Happy Birthday on the Drake digital marquee!
Get your student a "Happy Birthday!" with their name to rotate through the messages on the marquee throughout the day you choose (located at the entrance, off 52nd Ave.).
The cost is $20, with all funds going back to Drake PTO. We need a minimum of three days to get the message scheduled and uploaded to the marquee. Click here to order today!

If you are interested in carpooling and wondering who lives around you that wants to carpool too, please fill out this Carpool Buddies form. Help save your time and make friends!
We will share the Carpool Buddies Spreadsheet with only those who have filled out the form. Then it’s up to you to find someone who lives near you and contact them. We hope this can help make a fantastic year!
