DRAKE PARENTS!!
As a new Principal, your voice and feedback would be so helpful in helping me determine areas of opportunity here at Drake, as well as areas to celebrate!! Please take time tonight to fill out the family survey to make sure your voice is heard! The window closes TONIGHT AT MIDNIGHT. I am hoping to have at least 60% participation- we currently have 23%. Thank you again!

We want to hear from you! Panorama Education is conducting our annual family survey to provide us with benchmarking against national norms. We encourage you to complete this survey about your experience with your student(s) school. If you have multiple students at various schools, please complete one for each student. In addition, if you have one or more students at the same school, please take the survey thinking about your oldest student enrolled. Be sure to select the submit button at the end of the survey so your responses are captured. The survey will remain open until Friday, February 23.
The survey is anonymous and will take approximately 15–20 minutes to complete. Results will be used to improve our district and your student(s) learning environment. You can view previous survey results under the School Culture tab.

Join us to celebrate our young scientists!
The Drake Middle School Science Fair will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 from 6:00 - 7:30 pm in the Drake MS Gym, Library and Cafeteria.
We will have a Power Cone Ice Cream truck at the school during the fair, so you can enjoy some science and some sweets.

Holocaust Guest Speaker- donation request
Holocaust Guest Speaker- donation request
7th grade will be welcoming Holocaust survivor and guest speaker, Oscar Sladek on March 7. In exchange for his presentation, he has requested that we purchase some copies of his novel, in order to ensure that his story continues to live on. His presentation comes through the Mizel Museum, which also charges $1.00 per head. In order to show gratitude and appreciation for his time, we are asking for each student to make a $1.00 donation. If you are so inclined to make an additional donation for the purchase of the novels, the 7th grade team would be so appreciative. We need to raise about $500 for the speaking and books. We are so excited to start offering Hazel Health session opportunities during the school day! Hazel Health is an optional support students/families can participate in to get free telehealth support. Drake has partnered with Hazel Health to offer sessions during the school day to make it more accessible to all families. Get your student a "Happy Birthday!" with their name to rotate through the messages on the marquee throughout the day you choose (located at the entrance, off 52nd Ave.).
