Handbrake is a video transcoder software, capable of changing a video files format into another one. The main use at ICS is to rip and copy DVD's from the disk onto your computer. That way, you don't need to find the DVD or DVD player when showing something to students
Open Handbrake
Select Source
Clicking and dragging the source file into Handbrake
or
Select source from the pop-up menu
Select a preset
Select a Destination using the Browse button on the bottom right
Click Start to begin ripping footage
To convert .DAV files to a viewable format on a Macbook or for sharing on a Google Drive.
Download the files to your computer
Open up Handbrake
On the top left, click Open Source, and select the file.
(The default encoding settings will suffice, Fast 1080p30, but if you wish to change it, then you can do so using the Preset Panel)
On the bottom right, click Browse, to select the file destination
Click Start if you are converting 1 file. Add to Queue if you are converting more than 1. Once you have all your files selected, you can click Start.
