All students were made aware this month that only students In good standing may attend extracurricular events such as football games, dances, or other after school events. All students begin the school year in good standing, but consequences related to behavior, unexcused absences, or poor academic motivation can lead to a student losing that status and unable to attend those events for a designated period of time. Families and students would be notified of loss of in good standing status, but with homecoming a month away, now is a great time to reiterate the importance of meeting school expectations in order to attend that event.
You can now report student absences online!
Simply go to www.atdsf.com to Parent Links, click on Attendance Forms and provide the necessary information.
Reminder that all absences longer than 3 days must be approved by Dr. Marshall.
Hello Douglas S Freeman High School Parents!!
Each year our College Funding Coach Team partners with Freeman’s PTSA to teach our free workshop called “Little-Known Secrets of Paying for College”. Parents who have attended our workshop in the past have expressed how useful and invaluable the information we share is, so we’ve always made sure to visit Freeman each Fall.
On Tuesday, November 14th at 6:30pm we will be presenting our workshop in person at Freeman High School. The workshop will run approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. In order to attend the workshop, all you need to do is register using this link!
We look forward to having the opportunity to present this information to you. See you on the 14th!
Thank you to all of the parents/guardians for the class of 2024 who joined school counseling and administration for the senior parent night. You may access a copy of the presentation here.

Student drop-off and pick-up locations are in the student parking lot behind the Baseball field, off of Camden Drive. Parents are asked to pull into the main student parking lot when picking up students at dismissal. Parents should not use the visitor's parking lot off in front of the school to drop off or pick up students during the start of the school day (8:30 to 9:15 a.m.) or at dismissal (3:30 to 4:15 p.m.). Please note that it is extremely unsafe, at any time of the day, to drop students off on the curb min front of the school. The Drivers’ Education Lot across Camden Drive is ONLY for buses. Let’s ensure the safety of our young drivers by following this request. See the picture below for clarification.
The HCPS Code of Conduct stipulates that student cell phones must be off and away during instructional time. This year at DSF, students may be asked to place their phone in a designated location in most classes during class time. Students who do not and whose phone is out without permission during class time will have that device confiscated and turned into the main office.
Phones will be returned to parents and guardians. Students may use the main office landline to inform parents that their phone was confiscated.
The Henrico County Code of Conduct mandates a dress code to ensure a proper learning environment. Students are expected to review that policy prior to choosing clothing and those not adhering to dress-code will be asked to change. Those who repeatedly violate this Code of Conduct policy will be subject to disciplinary action. Please help us avoid that situation by speaking with your student about the dress code.
