Announcing a change regarding senior and AP exam exemptions.
Our exam exemption policy for seniors and those who take an AP exam relies on three components: Integrity, Grades, and Attendance. Seniors and those taking an AP exam for specific classes were exempt if they met the complicated criteria for all three of those components. This year, and this year only, we will be removing the attendance component.
In a year when we required students to stay home with COVID symptoms, close contact status, and positive test results, it would be inconsistent to then deny them something because they adhered to those expectations. Rather than litigate each case, Freeman will remove the entire attendance component (including those requirements related to tardies) of the exam-exemption requirements for this school year.
Students must still be free from any integrity violation and meet the B average or better (80 or better for the year and Q4) to be exempt from any exam.
Dear Parents and Guardians,
A few reminders from our schol health team:
When your student is not feeling well while at school, please advise them to come to the clinic first to be evaluated. If it is determined that the student should go home, the clinic will call you. We have had issues with students coming into the clinic, already prearranged with parents for a pickup/dismissal. If that’s the case student will be asked to go back to his/her classroom and wait for parent dismissal.
As a reminder, the following vaccinations are now required and failure to provide proof of vaccination prior to the first day of school will result in the exclusion from school until proof of immunization is received by the school/clinic:
Meningococcal (meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MenACWY): One dose is required at age 16 or older and required for 12th grade entry.
Any conditionally enrolled students must have their immunizations up to date before next school year.
If you need help with getting immunizations: Henrico Health District 804-501-4651
VCU Children’s Hospital 804-828-2467
A link to the requirements is available under “Immunizations” at www.henricoschools.us/health-safety/.
Proof of all immunizations should be provided to the school or clinic before Aug. 29, the first day of the 2022-23 school year.
Parents, PLEASE pick up medications from the clinic by June 16th till 11 AM.
VA State regulations require ALL medication left at school at the end of the school year be discarded.
Sincerely,
Megan Wiesak, BNS, RN

Class of 2022 All Night Graduation Party!!
Graduation 2022 is on the horizon and planning for the All-Night Graduation Party (ANGP) is well underway!
This year’s ANGP will be held on June 16, 2022 at the Weinstein JCC. The party starts at 10pm and ends around 3:30am.
The Freeman high school ANGP is a tradition for the senior class. For over 30 years, parents, the Freeman PTSA, and the entire Freeman Community have been sponsoring this party, which takes place on graduation night in an alcohol and drug free environment. This long-standing tradition is something our graduates look forward to, and is the only party of its kind in Henrico County. This event provides the graduates with a fun opportunity to celebrate with their classmates and friends.
For those of you who are not familiar with ANGP, it is the 30+ year Freeman tradition on graduation night that provides a safe environment for the recent grads to celebrate together and enjoy one last event as the Class of 2022! ANGP is usually hosted at the Tuckahoe Y, but due to renovations this year, they cannot accommodate us. We are thrilled to announce that ANGP 2022 will be held at the Carole and Marcus Weinstein Jewish Community Center. We are so very thankful for this partnership!
This event is fully funded by donations from Freeman Families and corporate and community sponsors! There has not been a "true" ANGP since 2019 because of COVID and we are excited to bring the tradition back with gusto!!
We need YOU to make this happen for the Class of 2022! How can you be a part of this awesome tradition?

VOLUNTEER - We need underclass parents to shadow the chairs for this year in order to be prepared for next year. We also need volunteers to set up ANGP while senior families enjoy graduation. Being a part of ANGP is a great way to meet people and have fun. Reach out to dsfangp2022@gmail.com to learn more!
