Morning Entry Building Entry: 

Our entry into the building in the morning looks a little different than normal.  To accommodate our new safety plan, we will have two points of entry for students on Monday morning.  Almost all of our students will enter the building through the bus ramp doors. Car riders and student drivers will walk up through the tennis courts and up the sidewalk along the bus ramp to the bus ramp doors.  Walkers and those coming from the Ridge Baptist area can enter through the main hall doors under the “auditorium” side.

Student schedules have been available at each open house and went live on PowerSchool last week.  Please note that schedules are tentative until the first day of school and may change, so please check PowerSchool to be sure.

Lara Teague Curry Memorial 5K & Kids Fun Run

8:00 a.m.: Kids Fun Run

8:30 a.m.: 5K

In cooperation with Douglas Freeman High School, the Henrico Education Foundation, River Road Church, Baptist, Third Church, and Trinity UMC, Henrico Mental Health and Development Services and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention the Lara Teague Curry Memorial 5K will be hosted at Trinity UMC on Saturday, September 16th.

A Memorial Fund at the Henrico Education Foundation has been established by the Teague and Curry families with the sole purpose to support students in Henrico County. Proceeds from the 5K will benefit the Lara Teague Curry Memorial Fund.

Early Bird Registration NOW OPEN:

• Early Bird Run/Walk Registration: $25/person

• Early Bird Family Registration (6 Attendees): $60

• Kids Fun Run: $5/kid

• Registration fees increase on August 16, 2023.

Job Opportunity for the Freeman Community: 

Ever had an interest in Teaching? We have a very recent teacher/board sub opening on our team and are searching for interested individuals to step in as a long-term instructor for our nutrition classes, previously taught by Mrs. McMunn, who was promoted this summer. A board sub post is a long-term substitute who plans lessons using our robust curriculum, builds relationships with students and is a full part of our team.  Board substitutes require a 4-year college degree, but not a teaching license or teaching degree. The current board sub payment is $200+ per day. 

With the nature of this curriculum, we are wondering if there is a solution in our community from someone who loves to cook or with a passion for nutrition or even health and wellness.

Powerschool Graduation Progress Feature

Last month, a new Graduation Plan Progress feature in PowerSchool went live in the Admin, Student, and Parent Portal for all current HCPS students in grades 9-12. This feature provides students, parents/guardians, principals, associate principals, school counselors, and coordinators of assessment and remediation (CARs) with a mechanism to easily view and track an individual student’s progress toward earning the standard credits required for the Virginia Standard, Advanced Studies, or Applied Studies Diplomas.
