Greenhouse Gasses

Greenhouse gasses are gasses that trap heat from exiting the earth which leads to hotter temperatures and are the main cause of global warming, rising tides, worse weather, more deaths from hyperthermia, and transmitting infectious diseases. Carbon dioxide makes up 0.04 percent of the atmosphere but, carbon dioxide makes up 76 percent of what is emitted. Carbon is emitted most, but methane is more harmful. Greenhouse gases play a big role in air pollution. Lots of them are very harmful and dangerous.

Methane has no color, and it's an odorless gas that you can find abundantly in nature and is a product of human activities. the chemical formula for methane is CH4. It accounts for 16% of greenhouse gasses. Air pollution is lighter than air its gravity is o.554. It burns easily in the air, forming carbon dioxide and water vapor. Methane is very stable, but when it is combined with air it's explosive. They cause explosions in coal mines and that has caused lots of disasters.

Air Pollution on Earth

Air pollution poses a major threat to climate and health. Air pollution in the atmosphere is caused by vehicles that run on gasoline and factories that burn coal. Others are smoke or fires. There may be a lot of causes of air pollution but there are some ways to stop it. These are some ways to reduce air pollution:

• conserve energy

• carpool

• follow gasoline refueling instructions

• try to buy portable gasoline

• keep any vehicles properly tuned

• make sure your tires are inflated

• use environment safe paint

• compost or mulch leaves and yard waste

• use gas logs instead of wood

Those are some ways to help stop air pollution. Even a little action can make a big difference!

Electric Cars

Some people think electric cars are better for the environment and that can be true but, it depends on where the electricity is coming from. Some electric cars get their electricity from polluting power plants. If electric cars get their electricity from polluting powerplants then they are not that much better for the environment than gas-powered cars. But, if the electric car gets its electricity from solar, wind, or any other green electricity form, then yes, electric cars are better than gas-powered cars.
