Animal Abuse

What is animal abuse?

Animal abuse definition: Animal neglect and animal cruelty: humans causing suffering and harm towards a non-human animal

There are many people in the world who don't think twice about the thousands of animals being abused every day. They may think that it isn't an important topic to focus on and make a change to. While we do have many overall world issues, and some are more urgent than others, animal abuse is a very important issue.

There is a wide variety of types of animal abuse. In our youth's animal abuse series, we have organized six topics for animal abuse. Four of these pages are the top four animals abused every year, and these include: Dog, Cat, Horse, and Bird Abuse. The other two pages are pages about Animal Experimentation, and also a database known as, The Dodo. Please explore these pages and learn how you can make a change!

We try to stop animal abuse by:

Making posters, getting the word out, and telling all of our friends and neighbors about this terrible abuse, but still many people don't care, and abuse animal's anyways. Most people don't realize how bad, hurtful, and hard it is for animals to go through the abuse that they deal with on a regular basis.

What can you do?

  • Donate money to rescues to help animals in need. Funds are one of the biggest things that hold rescuers back from being able to help more animals, so, by donating, you could be rescuing an animal from a REALLY bad situation.

  • Foster an animal(s) until they find their forever homes, then they will probably have more of a chance of being adopted, and they won't have to stay in a cage until they do! They could even be introduced to more of the world, and become better behaved animals! New places = new experiences! These animals don't deserve to be locked up, and especially not euthanized. You could save a life!

  • Rescue and adopt an animal(s) that need your help. They deserve it! Most people don’t understand the pain they go through throughout their lives, be their hero!

The ASPCA is working on animal abuse by taking in abused animals from their abusers. Another way you can make an impact on this problem is to be prepared and know what to do in every animal abuse situation. Below are top 10 ways to prevent animal cruelty:

One big group of animals being abused is farm animals. On factory farms, animals are subjected to routine mutilations, extreme confinement, and are otherwise manipulated to benefit human consumers. These practices are generally harmful to the animals and can cause death. Below are some examples:
