Gender discrimination is a huge problem throughout the world. Gender discrimination results in higher paychecks, job opportunities, responsibilities, friendships, and more for men. Women are, in some countries, abused, not allowed in school, forced into early parenthood and marriage, receive lower paychecks, are separated from men, and much more.
A group of people tried to pass the Paycheck Fairness Act, but it has not been passed yet.
Some recommended solutions are, that you go into the world and fight for what's right! Protest, demand equal rights, do what's right (without causing harm or destroying property) to deny Gender Inequality!
Kids can do friendly protests, informative videos, start school clubs, inform people of Gender Inequality and so much more.
Many people around the world are getting equal pay rights because of protests. Visit https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-39004991 to read about gender equality in Sweden. 1
As you can see very few men experienced gender discrimination but more than 50% of woman have.
Even the highest is only 90.1 percent! Women earn so much less than men in far too many countries. We need the help of everyone to make all countries go from 65% to 100%!
UN Women is an entity working to end gender discrimination and inequality.
This image shows how men are helped and pushed by other people but woman have to make their own path.
Here are some of my goals for gender equality!
1. Good education for girls
Education is a big problem around the globe. In most countries, girls and women are not allowed to go to school, and are expected to stay home, clean, cook and look after the children. Many women are even forced into early parenthood, and forced to leave school to take care of their children.
2. Better pay in the workplace
Women typically earn less than men in business, simply because they believe men deserve, and work harder, than women. This is not true! Women and men have the same potential for anything they work for, and deserve equal pay and treatment in the workplace.
