GES Families,
As we head into the final week of the 2024–2025 school year, it's hard to believe we're wrapping up such a memorable one of Peace, Love, & GES. What a year it has been—filled with heart, joy, challenges, and growth.
We hope you all will be able to join us for your child's Success Ceremony where we will celebrate their personal growth and achievements from the year! This is a long-standing GES tradition. It is a special time for students in each grade level to share what they are most proud of learning and accomplishing this school year.
As a reminder, we will open the doors 30 minutes before each grade level ceremony for check-in and have a place for families to wait in the cafeteria prior to opening classrooms where the ceremonies will take place.
Thank you for your continued support throughout the year! We appreciate the partnership our parents provide whether its supporting your child from home or many others across the campus. We couldn't do it without you.
We encourage our students to keep the momentum of reading and learning throughout the summer. You can avoid the summer slide by reading with your child, visiting the public library, engaging with them in activities throughout the summer. Consider authentic ways you can involve them in shopping for groceries, cooking something at home, or going on a scavenger hunt! There are so many ways to keep your child learning and growing over the summer while having lots of fun!
Wishing you all a wonderful summer!
All my best,
Mrs. Hale
On the Last Day of School, Thursday, May 22, students will be dismissed at 11:45am. If you would like your child to have a bag lunch before they go home and the opportunity to eat, please sign-up on the half-sheet of the bright yellow paper that was sent home. You may print an additional copy HERE if needed.
Lunches will only be prepared for those who reserve them in advance.
Meet the Teacher for the 25-26 school year will be on Monday, Aug. 11 from 4:30-6:00pm. We hope you will be able to join us!
If you have an incoming kindergarten student, please mark your calendar for July 30th! We will have our annual Kindergarten Star Camp, which is an opportunity for students to spend a few hours in our classrooms, meet the staff and new friends while families have the chance to hear from the campus leadership team. This is an optional event, but provides us valuable information to create balanced classes for the fall.
PreK families, please mark your calendar for July 31st! This will be our annual PreK Mingle event, an opportunity for students to come see the campus, meet the PreK staff as well as other students and families. This is an optional event, but provides us valuable information to create balanced classes for the fall.
We've finally wrapped up our Book Battle, and we have a winner! Mr. Fox's Game of No beat The Scariest Kitten in the World by over 100 votes, and the kids are thrilled! Nothing is better than listening to our kids discuss books, and this book battle has created MANY discussions! Thanks for going on this journey with us!
Please help us get our library books back! We are currently missing 99 books from our library. Please check your bookshelves at home and send back anything with a GES barcode. Thanks for your help!
This is a live Google Calendar that we will keep updated throughout the year with campus activities. Click the calendar to open it up so you can switch to week or month view and look at future dates. Please check back frequently for new additions.
GES Families,
Congratulations on another successful year at Grapevine Elementary School! On behalf of our PTA Board, thank you for your unparalleled support this year. For all the hours volunteered, events attended, funds raised, and encouragement given- we thank you. We have had a phenomenal year together and have felt fortunate to be raising kids alongside you in this little community. On a personal note, thank you for your continued support during my term as President. It has been an honor to serve in this role and I will never forget the many ways that you have come alongside my family during our time at this precious school.
As you look toward summer, know that we are so excited to welcome you back in August for another fabulous school year! Your incoming President, Katie Massimi and her team are already hard at work preparing for the school year ahead. Be sure to stay in touch and watch our social media for details pertaining to the ways that you can continue your involvement as we work with our teachers and staff at Grapevine Elementary next school year.
It truly takes a village to raise a child, and I happen to think that we have the very best village. We wish you all the best as you soak in this summer with your child!
Blessings,
Anna Rotenberry
GES PTA President

The PTA would like to recognize Jamie Horn as the April volunteer of the month. As VP Programs and Fundraising she has planned our Back 2 School Bash, Family Movie Night, Spirit Nights/Grade Level Mixers, the STEAM presentations from the Fort Worth Museum of Science, and more. She also served as our Capital Improvements Chair and is an active classroom volunteer. We appreciate all she does for GES!
It's an exciting week for our 5th Grade Students and we want to thank our 5th Grade Committee for all their hard work this year raising funds and planning such special end of year celebrations.

GCISD’s early childhood program is expanding to include a Pre-K 3 class beginning next school year. The Pre-K 3 class is a state-funded option, specifically for eligible students and will be housed at the Early Childhood Development Center (ECDC). As this is the first year of the program, space will be limited. Eligibility criteria is listed on the application form, which is available here. If you have any questions, please email us at gcisd.pk@gcisd.net.

This institution is an equal opportunity provider.
Students have been busy completing their end of year assessments in both Reading and Math! We are so proud of our students and teachers for all their hard work this year. Reports will be sent home by May 20th with student scores and growth this year. We hope you will take a few minutes to celebrate your child's growth and success with them!
This year our goal for each student was to meet their personal Target Growth in iReady! Each child's growth was determined based on their individual level to start the year. Students who make 100% of their target growth in reading will earn the opportunity to visit the Book Machine. Students who make 100% of their target growth in math will earn the opportunity to visit the toy machine.
If students made their Stretch Growth, that means they grew more than a full year in that particular subject from beginning of the year testing to end of year testing. This is a HUGE accomplishment!
Yearbooks have arrived! They are being sorted and will be delivered this week to classes. We are asking that students keep them at school until next week when they will have a chance to get signatures from their classmates and students in their grade.
Many thanks to our PTA Yearbook Coordinator, Angela Wengrenovich, for putting together our yearbooks this year.
We are so grateful for every kind word, picture drawn, hand-written note, decorated space, time donated, and thoughtful gift that was provided last week. Year after year our PTA and families step up in such a huge way to recognize our teachers and staff at GES for Teacher Appreciation Week. It truly is amazing and goes such a long way in showing your support. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Didn't get the emergency notifications on Monday? Please check your Skyward access and settings to be sure you have signed up for both text and emails and that your information is current. Today's events were shared via text, email, website alerts, and GCISD social media.
To ensure the safety and well-being of all our students and our kind neighbors in the surrounding streets, please be sure to utilize the designated campus parking lot and car lines as well as supervised crosswalks. Parking in the neighborhood, especially in marked "no parking" zones, unfortunately creates a potential safety hazard for residents should emergency vehicles need clear access. We have been informed by the Grapevine Police Department that they will be issuing tickets in these restricted areas. Your cooperation in keeping our students and community safe is much appreciated.
We are asking any families who know they are NOT returning to GES for the 2025-2026 school year to please complete the following GES Summer Withdrawal FORM. We need to be sure that we collect necessary technology from your student prior to the end of the year if you are planning to move.
This does not include students moving on to middle school.
Any student who hasn't completed Returning Student Registration by Friday, May 16th will be asked to return their student device and charger before the summer. This will ensure that we have all technology should a family not return to GES in the fall.
To register a returning student click here.
Families who are awaiting a transfer request should register for the campus they are currently zoned for. Transfer requests will be processed at a later date. To view attendance zones, visit our School Maps Online.
Visitors may join us for lunch with their child if they are signed up in advance HERE. Please be sure to share our Sign-up link with your family members who wish to come eat with your child. Also, it is critical that anyone coming to lunch with your child, if not accompanying the guardian, is on your child's emergency contact list.
Lunch guests will sign-in through our secure vestibule with a valid ID, stop by the front office to check-in and receive a visitor badge, and then meet their GES star at the entrance to the cafeteria. Families will have the option to sit outside in the picnic table area for lunch or in our cafeteria at an empty table near the windows. Parents are welcome to bring in outside food when having their lunch with their child. We ask that you please be courteous to the rest of the community and limit lunch visits with your child to no more than one per month so that all families have the opportunity to visit. We appreciate your cooperation.
Each family needs only 1 slot reserved. For example, Mom, Dad, and sister may all come eat lunch with Nancy. Only Mom needs to be registered as 1 visitor to reserve 1 picnic table together. When it asks for quantity of visitors, please select just 1. Lunch visitors may only eat with their child or student. You may not invite friends to sit with you when coming for lunch.

We LOVE our volunteers at GES! This year we are encouraging all families who plan to come to campus and interact with students to go ahead and complete the background check. Volunteers must complete this EACH YEAR beginning in August! It can take 1-2 weeks for your background check to clear. If you plan to be a guest reader, volunteer at a class party, chaperone a field trip, volunteer with PTA, open car doors with our Dad's Club, etc. you will need a completed Background Check! kjkhkuh
The following link takes you to the online Volunteer Handbook and background check: https://www.gcisd.net/o/gcisd/page/volunteer-background-check
In order to volunteer at GES, or around GCISD, all volunteers must:
read the Volunteer Handbook (this replaces the previous face to face volunteer trainings held on campus)
watch the appropriate video included in the handbook
electronically sign the verification Google form for each campus you plan to volunteer
complete the volunteer background check. A link is included in the handbook.
When you are ready to volunteer at GES, feel free to call the front office at 817-251-5735 to verify that both of the required steps have been recorded as completed. We appreciate your support as you complete these steps and volunteer to work with our GES students.
If you are on Facebook, we would love for you to follow our Grapevine Elementary Facebook page if you're not already. We post activities and campus life in addition to helpful reminders. We would love for you to follow our story!
