GES Families,
As we celebrate Volunteer Appreciation Week, I want to take a moment to extend my heartfelt thanks to each of you on behalf of our entire campus family. At GES, we are incredibly fortunate to have such a dedicated, caring, and involved community of families who go above and beyond to support our students, staff, and school.
From volunteering in classrooms and reading one-on-one with students, to chaperoning field trips, leading our PTA, organizing events, and donating supplies—your contributions, big and small, do not go unnoticed. Every time you show up, give your time, or lend a helping hand, you are making a meaningful difference in the lives of our students.
Our school thrives because of the strong partnership we share with our families. The joyful, supportive, and welcoming atmosphere at GES is a direct reflection of the amazing people who give so generously to help our campus grow and succeed. Quite simply, GES would not be the special place it is without YOU.
Thank you for being a vital part of our school community. We see you, we appreciate you, and we are so grateful for everything you do.
All my best,
Mrs. Hale

Some of our students noticed today that Officer Weber wasn't on campus. We wanted to let families know that he is taking a leave of absence to care for a family member. Thank you for joining us in sending him well wishes while he is out.
While he's away, we will primarily have Officer Lorena filling in for him. She's a familiar face to our students as she has filled in for him on other days this school year.
We made it to Week 7 of our Book Battle! Last week, we had TWO winners! Scariest Kitten in the World beat Campingland with a vote of 306-121and is moving on the the championship, while Mr. Fox's Game of No beat out Spider in the Well with a vote of 264-84 and won Week 6.
This week, we have a bubble gum theme with On Account of the Gum and Bubble Gum Bison Needs a Bath. It's going to be a fun week! You will find the videos for Week 7 here!
Friday is our final College Colors Day of the school year! Wear those college colors with pride.
This is a live Google Calendar that we will keep updated throughout the year with campus activities. Click the calendar to open it up so you can switch to week or month view and look at future dates. Please check back frequently for new additions.
Join us for our annual Earth Week celebration in the WOW Garden on Thursday, April 24th! Families are invited to come to the garden immediately after school dismissal from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM for a fun-filled afternoon with snacks and a hands-on activity.
The Tarrant Regional Water District will be leading an exciting program to teach us about wildflowers, followed by a wildflower planting session. It's a great way to connect with nature and make a lasting impact on our beautiful garden.
We hope to see you there as we celebrate and care for our Earth together!
GES PTA would love for rising PK and Kindergarten students to stop by our table at Future Stars Preview Night on May 1st for popsicles and to learn more about PTA!
Have GES spirit wear that your child has outgrown? We would love to pass it along to our future stars visiting GES On May 1st. Please drop off any GES spirit items you would like to donate between April 23rd and Apil 28th in the secure vestibule. These items will be available for our incoming PK and Kindergarten students, so we are especially looking for smaller sized items. Thank you for donating your old items for future students to enjoy!
The GES PTA Diversity Committee and Culture Club will be hosting our annual WOW night on Wednesday, May 14th! Hope your family plans to join us!

It's time to begin planning and preparing for the 2025-2026 school year! Registration is now open for all new and returning students. We ask that you complete returning student registration before May 16. The earlier you register, the better we can plan as campuses are staffed based on registration numbers. Registering now helps GCISD avoid last-minute hiring or staff relocations when the school year begins.
The following links will help you access registration documents:
While families can register all year long, your quick attention helps us in planning and preparing for the 25-26 school year and ensures a smooth start for all!
In the coming weeks, we will begin to develop our class lists for next school year. In creating these lists we take into account district guidelines and keep in mind the need to create a balanced classroom for our GES Stars. This process involves multiple variables. Below you will find some of the variables we will consider as we develop class lists for the 2026-2026 school year:
Gender balance
Academic mix
Personality and learning styles
Peer relationships
Class size
Special needs
The objective is to place all students with a teacher in a balanced class that will support individual learning and growth. At GES, we are very fortunate to have an exceptional group of teachers and staff to work with our students and families.
Families have the optional opportunity to fill out this student class information form. This form will not be used for requesting a teacher, but will give you a chance to share valuable information about your child. There will also be a spot for your child to share. We will NOT be honoring specific teacher requests. The form will be available online to families April 14-May 2. Please complete the sections of the form online with your student.
Final class placement will not be determined until August.
Field Day will be Friday, May 16! We hope you save the date and can join us at some point during the day. Schedules will be sent out as well as permission slips in May.
Coach Basil would love your support in signing up to Volunteer for our event! You must have a completed background check to sign-up.
It's that time of year -- GES College & Career Event time! If you are willing to volunteer your time on Tuesday, 5/13 during this opportunity for our GES stars, please complete this Presenter Form by Monday, April 28th! Whether it be 30 minutes for your Star's class only or his/her grade level or the entire day, we would appreciate your time in showcasing your college experience and/or career choice/passion!
Spread the word and the included link to family, friends, or community members that could support our college and career awareness, too!
You're invited to bring a friend and attend the GCISD DAC Potluck.
Visitors may join us for lunch with their child if they are signed up in advance HERE. Please be sure to share our Sign-up link with your family members who wish to come eat with your child. Also, it is critical that anyone coming to lunch with your child, if not accompanying the guardian, is on your child's emergency contact list.
Lunch guests will sign-in through our secure vestibule with a valid ID, stop by the front office to check-in and receive a visitor badge, and then meet their GES star at the entrance to the cafeteria. Families will have the option to sit outside in the picnic table area for lunch or in our cafeteria at an empty table near the windows. Parents are welcome to bring in outside food when having their lunch with their child. We ask that you please be courteous to the rest of the community and limit lunch visits with your child to no more than one per month so that all families have the opportunity to visit. We appreciate your cooperation.
Each family needs only 1 slot reserved. For example, Mom, Dad, and sister may all come eat lunch with Nancy. Only Mom needs to be registered as 1 visitor to reserve 1 picnic table together. When it asks for quantity of visitors, please select just 1. Lunch visitors may only eat with their child or student. You may not invite friends to sit with you when coming for lunch.

We LOVE our volunteers at GES! This year we are encouraging all families who plan to come to campus and interact with students to go ahead and complete the background check. Volunteers must complete this EACH YEAR beginning in August! It can take 1-2 weeks for your background check to clear. If you plan to be a guest reader, volunteer at a class party, chaperone a field trip, volunteer with PTA, open car doors with our Dad's Club, etc. you will need a completed Background Check! kjkhkuh
The following link takes you to the online Volunteer Handbook and background check: https://www.gcisd.net/o/gcisd/page/volunteer-background-check
In order to volunteer at GES, or around GCISD, all volunteers must:
read the Volunteer Handbook (this replaces the previous face to face volunteer trainings held on campus)
watch the appropriate video included in the handbook
electronically sign the verification Google form for each campus you plan to volunteer
complete the volunteer background check. A link is included in the handbook.
When you are ready to volunteer at GES, feel free to call the front office at 817-251-5735 to verify that both of the required steps have been recorded as completed. We appreciate your support as you complete these steps and volunteer to work with our GES students.
If you are on Facebook, we would love for you to follow our Grapevine Elementary Facebook page if you're not already. We post activities and campus life in addition to helpful reminders. We would love for you to follow our story!
