Inspired by Karl Blossfeldt, I formed this grid with 9 photographs from a 35mm roll of film I took. It is made up of natural sea objects, all found on Rottingdean Beach. I designed this piece because I wanted to showcase a tiny portion of the beautiful things that Earth can create; I wanted to help the viewer recognise that everything in nature is special and we must strive to look after it all.
Top: crab body | two shells | a rock.
Middle: seaweed root | dogfish egg cases | slipper limpet shell.
Bottom: a hole through chalk | whelk snail egg cases | fossil.

Progressing to: I am still deciding what to do after the course, I may go to university in a few years time and attend the course 'Creative Art Practice' but for now I will just be focusing on experimenting with my current practices in my own time.
My project idea was based around fashion within youth culture, focussing on the growth and change that young people go through when figuring out who they are and what they're actually interested in. I used some tie dye clothing, borrowed from a fashion student called Anna. I did this because I feel like tie dye is quite out there and bold, which is something people shy away from at a young age because they feel like they might not fit in. Using a close up shot of water as a backdrop to represent the continuous flow of change and growth.

I wanted to create a series of photos referring to fashion from the past and how it has had a huge impact on today's life. I presented this in many different ways however this image is my most powerful and strong outcome from my shoot when I looked into androgynous dressing. I really love how this goes against the stereotypical characteristics when it comes to fashion.

"Text Me If You Get Home" Although the typical text sent at almost every departure between two women is 'text me when you get home', we are of course not interested in how many minutes our friend’s journey takes, but whether they actually make it there at all. The words you see on each image are statements given by those pictured, detailing true experiences they have had with men that made them feel unsafe or uncomfortable. This project was created to highlight the perpetual feeling of unsafety that girls and women feel in the world, even when just walking home.

These 3 photos are taken on a medium format. The first one, titled "James" I took on a walk through East London (strangers portrait). I walked around Hackney fields, barely finding anyone willing to have their portrait taken. Slowly giving up I went to grab some food, walking round the corner, past the farm, to see if the market was on. Out of the corner of my eye I saw James, dressed in the coolest cardigan, holding his rosemary plant. The next two photos were from a music video shoot. I reached out to the artist via Instagram and got invited to shoot BTS portraits.

Progressing to: I would like to continue reaching out to young creatives and making connections. I'm going to learn as much as I can about portrait photography. I've also been in touch with some well established photographers about assisting shoots and/or shadowing.
My work explored the ‘Tortured Artist’ trope.

In this project I wanted to explore how I can document my family‘s life and the things we love using different types of media formats. I also wanted to influence the different use of distorting methods to show a clear journey throughout my project from each new series made, showing a clear change in time through each series and a clear story as to what I want to convey.

For this FMP, I presented the contrasts between Abstraction and Realism by capturing photographs in ways that make them look abstract such as its angling and I would try to alter my other images in ways that make them look different but real as well. This is seen within these two images of mine because of how my image of the windows was my attempt at creating a realistic looking photo despite it being photoshopped and my image of the building was a real photo that was meant to be made to look abstract due towards my use of angling.

For my FMP, I wanted to explore the idea of gender fluidity and identity in fashion. My main concept idea is to show the break of gender identity, using clothing and makeup. I chose to represent people who struggle with their identity to raise awareness and promote that everyone and every gender is the same.
