I chose to create my final piece with these particular materials and techniques because I wanted to emphasise and highlight the natural elements found in the natural world, whilst also highlighting the architectural design of the building presented in the design. The reasoning for this was because I wanted to emphasise the shapes and details presented both in the natural and urban environment. I used various coloured threads to add a variation of contrasts to the piece, which helps create a strong variation of textures between the different materials used in the design.

This is my final piece image that I created using acrylics and projector work. It represents a brain scan with the image of an eye to reflect the inner emotions of people linking this to medical technology. I have been influenced by KwangHo Shin and Susan Aldworth in both their techniques and inspiration. I then projected my image onto an image of the brain taken from a medical journal. I love working with bright, vibrant colours and have used these in my artwork.

I wanted to base my project on something relatable and relevant so I chose mental health. Many people struggle with their mental health so I wanted to address it in a lighter, more appealing way. I used acrylic paints to create some simple illustrations and added a little character, that character is "Mr Anxiety". I recreated everyday tasks, places or situations that can be challenging for certain people but "normal" to other people. The aim was to make people who are struggling feel less alone/ noticed and for people who might want to help a loved one or just be more educated on the topic.

The piece is a projection of a non-linear video sequence onto posters I made using photoshop. The piece shows the subject of feminism and the daily fears of women due to male violence. The video is emotive, compared to the posters which show statistics as well as statements from survivors. I wanted to create a piece that was important and made people think about their actions and how we can improve to keep women safe.

Alongside starting my FMP, I was helping my parents to pack up the home which had housed my four siblings and I for a good couple of decades. I was left with the duty of sorting through the many, many toys. My final outcome is inspired by the memory of my father inserting swear words into storybooks to entertain my sister and I as he read them to us as young children. Excluding the dysfunctional couple on the last page, all of the paintings/posters are based on memories involving the toys in which they feature.

This is a traditional cut Kimono in the style of a Houmongi. The print was inspired by Japanese woodblock artists who used floral designs. The colour purple represents royalty, independence and undying love and I believe I share characteristics of that colour, therefore creating a personal link with my final piece. This piece also creates a conversation about social status in kimono. The material I used was calico as that is a common material which creates a constant with the high status of the purple colour. Traditionally, a colour of that status would have been in silk.

I called this project "Subconscious Scenes" as it is scenes from my dreams. We were given the topic of order/disorder, I explored disorder. Mental health affects people in many ways without them even realising such as having nightmares. I decided to turn mine into a book. I used acrylics as I was inexperienced with this media. This not only took me out of my comfort zone but also presented my dreams very well as I was able to get precise detail and vivid colour. I layered my artworks with text printed on acetate then used thread to bind the pages together into a book.

This piece is a mixed media collage depicting a house from my patcham section. I've used a wide variety of unique materials that consist of (but are not limited to) ink, biro, watered ink and fineliner. These combined to make a three dimensional collage printed during the project.

In response to "Order and Disorder" I have done an exploration between people and networks. Specifically, I have explored Disordered; of being you, and Ordered; of people being with people. I have produced a project of work that expresses the theme of order and disorder by reflection on groups of people and the individual. I have concentrated on my 2D design skills, with a view to more design oriented work in the future. I have produced a project that represents and identifies a social issue, brought up by the Pandemic. It is something that has deeply affected all of us.

With this piece (inspired by Hannah Höch and Barbara Kruger) I have aimed to convey a message regarding the way we live in today’s society, such as under our current restrictions and means of control, inclusive of the mass use of CCTV technology. I wanted to symbolise the way in which we are always being watched by the eyes of the authorities, and how this forces people to want to rebel against it.

I used to be very perfection oriented in my art, focusing on minuscule details and taking a painstaking amount of time to complete work. In this project I wanted to explore another side of art. I looked at the relationship between the technique and style an artist uses and the emotional impact a piece of art has. I focused on quick, intuitive and expressive approaches, blending together large amounts of bright colours on the canvas. Through reflection of my immediate response and how I felt while producing each piece I developed my abstract style, culminating in this final painting. I was inspired by various abstract artists as well as Norris Yim, who influenced the inclusion of the central figure.

In response to "Order/Disorder" I was interested in exploring undergarments structure, boning lines, shape, the materials such as lace from the 1300s to the 1900s and the silhouette from 20th century designers such as Cristóbal Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen, David and Elizabeth Emanuel. I also got inspired by the urban environment, looking specifically at the structure of the church. I incorporated stitching and wrapping to create a disordered pattern which references the work of Salina El Houssaini and Maurizio Anzeri, how they manipulated shapes and distorted imagery with thread respectively.

This is my final piece, I responded to the theme of "Order/Disorder" by exploring what makes people who they are and how they can be perceived in a multitude of ways. This is a self portrait that is interrupted by the addition of the faces of the people closest to me, whom I feel have impacted my personality the most. Holistically, all the colours and geometric/shape patterns put together in this piece construct my face which communicates order as they must be placed in the correct positions to assemble the image. Conversely, the sections of the other faces disrupt this holistic image to convey disorder, however the use of colour is to communicate that I need each of these colours/sections to construct myself - in other words I need all of these people for me to be me.

Sculptures using scraps of acrylic plastic discarded by others to explore layering, shape, colour and the relationship between different artists in graffiti. Order and disorder shown through the juxtaposition of unpredictable, random shapes inside the repetitive, equal rectangles.

I have chosen to work with the theme of the natural world and make a range of paper flower sculptures, focusing on flower structures and colours. I used professional high quality coloured paper as it was easy to cut and shape as well as having flexibility and movement. The paper brought my work to life and I have experimented with layering colours and photographing my sculptures in different settings. I also gained inspiration from artists including Almuth Tebbenhoff and Myung Nam.
