5. Education Campus-wide Computing System (ECCS)

The Educational Campus-wide Computing System (ECCS) is a service that allows UTokyo students to use university’s computers and networking systems for the purpose of research and education. There are iMacs installed as ECCS terminal computers (terminals) on campuses, and users can select either a Mac OS or Windows environment at start-up. The large PC classrooms in the Information Education Building are open to students as self-study rooms when there are no classes being held, and students can use the terminals for their own study. In addition to the large PC classrooms, there are rooms set aside for self-study. Students can also browse web sites from their own computers using the wireless LAN stations that are equipped in the study room.

情報基盤センター教育用計算機システム（ECCS）は、東京大学の学生が研究や教育を目的として大学のコンピュータやネットワークシステムを利用することを可能としています。キャンパス内にはECCS端末としてiMacsが設置されており、利用開始時にMac OS環境またはWindows環境を選択することができます。授業が行われていないときは、情報教育棟の大演習室が学生の自習室として開放されており、学生は端末を自習に使うことができます。大演習室の他にも、自習用の部屋がいくつかあります。また、学生は自習室に備え付けの無線LANステーションを利用して、自身のコンピュータからウェブサイトを閲覧することができます。
