6. Certificates

At UTokyo, you can issue various certificates yourself using the certificate issuance services listed below. Please note that the types of certificates available vary depending on the service, so be sure to check carefully.

A UTokyo Account is required to use the certificate issuance services. If you forget your password, please refer to this page. Please be aware that your account will be locked if you enter the wrong password more than 10 times.

For certificates that cannot be issued through the online services, you can obtain them at the International Education Promotion Group (USTEP Office) on the Hongo Campus. Please contact the office either in person or by email.

(1) Automatic Certificate Issuing Machines 

Certificates marked with a "*" (asterisk) can be issued by the Automatic Certificate Issuing Machine on campuses. 

(2) Campus Issued UTAS Certificate Printers / Convenient-store Certificate Print Service

Certificates marked with a "+" (plus) can be requested through the "Certificate Issuance Service" on UTAS, and issued using either the Campus Issued UTAS Certificate Printers or Convenient-store Certificate Print Service.

*Please note that as this is a trial period starting from July 28, the service content may be subject to change.

東京大学では、以下の証明書発行サービスを利用して各種証明書を自分で発行することができます。発行できる証明書の種類はサービスにより異なりますので、よく確認してください。証明書発行サービスを利用する際には、UTokyoアカウントが必要です。パスワードを忘れた場合は、以下のページをご参照ください。なお、10回以上パスワードを間違えるとアカウントがロックされますのでご注意ください。

証明書発行サービスを利用できない証明書は、国際教育推進課（USTEPオフィス）（本郷キャンパス）の窓口で発行できます。窓口かメールにてお問い合わせください。

(1) 自動証明書発行機

*印のついた証明書は、キャンパス内に設置されている自動証明書発行機（16台）で発行することができます。

(2) 学内発行UTAS証明書プリンター／コンビニ証明書プリントサービス

+印のついた証明書は、UTASの「証明書発行サービス」から発行申請し、キャンパス内に設置されている学内発行UTAS証明書プリンターまたはコンビニ証明書プリントサービスを利用して発行することができます。

※7/28～試行利用期間中のため、今後サービスの内容が変更になる可能性があります。

Students who need to commute to campus at least two days a week are eligible to receive a student commuter certificate. This certificate allows a student to purchase a “student commuter pass” which is cheaper than an ordinary commuter pass from a train station office when submitted the certificate along with a Student ID Card. The route must be between the nearest home station and the station for the campus. 

In some cases, it is better not to purchase a commuter pass depending on the number of days you may be coming to campus(es). Calculate the costs and choose the best option. If you commute to both Hongo and Komaba Campuses two or more times a week, you can apply for a second student commuter certificate at the International Education Promotion Group (USTEP Office) if necessary. Please be aware that the second certificate may take about three business days to be issued.

週に2日以上キャンパスに通学する学生は、通学定期券購入証明書の発行を受けることができます。この証明書を学生証と一緒に駅窓口に提出することで、通常の定期券よりも割安な「通学定期券（学生用）」を購入することができます。通学経路は、自宅の最寄駅からキャンパスの最寄駅までの区間でなければなりません。

ただし、通学日数によっては定期券を購入しない方が費用的にお得な場合もあります。自分の通学頻度に応じて交通費を計算し、最適な方法を選んでください。

本郷キャンパスと駒場キャンパスの両方に週2回以上通学する場合は、必要に応じて二枚目の通学定期券購入証明書を国際教育推進課（USTEPオフィス）で申請することができます。二枚目の通学定期券購入証明書の発行には、約3営業日かかりますので、余裕を持って申請してください。

• While studying at UTokyo:

Academic Transcript can be obtained using one of the automatic issuing machines on campus after the results of courses are released in the end of the semester.

• Upon the completion of program:

Your digitally-signed academic transcript (PDF) will be sent to your home university after you finish the program. For more the details, please see this page. 

• For future use:

If you need academic transcripts in addition to the copy mentioned above (e.g. when applying to graduate schools), please follow the instructions below and apply accordingly.

成績証明書（Academic Transcript）は、学期末に成績が公開された後、キャンパス内の自動証明書発行機で取得することができます。

• プログラム修了時：

プログラム修了後に、デジタル署名付きの成績証明書（PDF）が所属大学に送付されます。詳細については、次のページをご確認ください。

• 将来的に必要な場合：

上記とは別に追加で成績証明書が必要な場合（例：大学院出願時など）は、以下の案内に従って申請してください。

Courses currently you have registered for are shown on the Certificate of Course Registration. Please note that the certificate do not show the courses of which classes have already finished (i.e. the final class session is over). Thus, we strongly advise you obtain the certificate at the beginning of the term/semester.

If you need to prove your registered courses at UTokyo to your home university, please try to obtain this certificate of course registration. The USTEP Office cannot sign a document or form issued by other institutions for this matter.

履修登録中の授業科目は、「履修登録証明書（Certificate of Course Registration）」に記載されます。ただし、この証明書にはすでに授業期間が終了した科目（最終授業日が過ぎた科目）は表示されません。したがって、学期の初めにこの証明書を取得しておくことを強くおすすめします。

東京大学での履修状況を所属大学に証明する必要がある場合は、この「履修登録証明書」を取得してください。履修登録の証明に関して、USTEPオフィスでは他機関が発行した書類やフォームに署名することはできません。

Certificate of Enrollment is available while your status as a student of UTokyo is valid, and it proves the period of your enrollment information (including beginning and ending dates). 

If you need to prove to your home university that you have successfully enrolled/completed your exchange studies at UTokyo, please try to obtain this certificate of enrollment to show your exchange enrollment period . The USTEP Office cannot sign a document or form issued by other institutions for this matter.

在学証明書（Certificate of Enrollment）は、東京大学の学生としての在籍期間中に発行が可能です。この証明書には、在籍の開始日と終了日を含む在学期間の情報が記載されています。

所属大学に対して、東京大学での交換留学に正式に在籍・修了したことを証明する必要がある場合は、在学期間を示す在学証明書を取得してください。この件に関して、USTEPオフィスでは他機関が発行した書類やフォームに署名することはできません。

If you present a student travel discount certificate (Gakuwari-sho), you can purchase the train ticket for a JR train trip which is over 101 km one-way at a discount of 20% on a basic fare at a JR ticket office. Valid student ID is required at the time of purchase and boarding. (This discount cannot be applied to express tickets.) 

The certificate can be obtained at International Education Promotion Group (USTEP Office) (Hongo Campus) and Center for Global Education Komaba Branch (Komaba Campus.)

*The student discount certificate can only be issued for travel related to the following reasons and considered academically appropriate. It cannot be applied to personal (private) travels.

• Regular educational activities such as laboratory work and practical training

• special educational activities or extracurricular activities related to sports and culture approved by the university

• Taking exams for employment or further education

• Attending field trips or events that the school considers beneficial for your studies

• Receiving medical treatment or handling other issues that may interfere with your studies

• Accompanying your parent(s) on their trip

To issue the certificate, you must submit details of your travel destination (including the institution address and schedule). Please bring documents that clearly show the travel details in case verification may be required. (Examples: course syllabus, itinerary, exam admission notice, hospital/clinic information etc. If you are accompanying your parent(s) on their trip, please bring a copy of their airline tickets or hotel reservation, etc.)

*Please allow sufficient time when applying, as issuance may take some time.

(Notes)

Please note that USTEP Type U students are NOT eligible to print out the student travel discount certificate (gakuwari-sho) from the new Campus Issued UTAS Certificate Printers installed on campus since July, 2025.

「学校学生生徒旅客運賃割引証（学割証）」を提示することで、JRの片道101kmを超える区間の乗車券（普通運賃）を、20％割引で購入することができます。

購入時および乗車時には、有効な学生証の提示が必要です。（この割引は特急券には適用されません。）

学割証は、本郷キャンパスの国際教育推進課（USTEPオフィス）および駒場キャンパスのグローバル教育センター駒場支部で申請することができます。

※学割証は、以下の理由による旅行かつ学修上妥当だと認める場合のみ発行できます。私用（個人旅行）には適用できません。

• 実験や実習などの通常の授業活動

• 大学が認めるスポーツや文化活動などの特別な課外活動

• 就職や進学のための受験

• 大学が修学上の理由で認める見学やイベントへの参加

• 病気の治療や勉強に支障をきたす問題の対処

• 保護者（親）の旅行への随行

発行にあたっては、旅行機関先の詳細（住所と日程）の申請が必要です。確認が必要な場合があるので、旅行の詳細が分かる確認できる資料を持参してください。（授業のシラバス、日程表、受験票、通院先の情報等。「保護者（親）の旅行への随行」の場合は、保護者（親）の方の航空券やホテル予約の写し等。）

※発行に時間がかかることがあるので時間に余裕を見て申請してください。

（注意）

USTEP Type U生は、2025年7月からキャンパスに新しく設置された「学内発行UTAS証明書プリンター」で学割証を発行することはできませんのでご注意ください。
