Housing Options
USTEP students may apply to stay in one of the following UTokyo residence halls: Mejirodai International Village, Komaba Lodge (Main, B, C, D, Annex), or Mitaka International Hall of Residence. (*Please note that the number of available residences is limited, and accommodation cannot be guaranteed.) Communal student housing offered by private organizations is also available, and it includes a meal plan. Details about each residence and the application procedures will be provided separately to successful applicants.

USTEPの学生は、以下のいずれかの東京大学の学生寮に滞在申請をすることができます：目白台インターナショナルビレッジ、駒場ロッジ（本館、B棟、C棟、D棟、別館）、または三鷹インターナショナルハウス。（※宿舎の数には限りがあるため、入居は保証されません。）また、民間団体が提供する共同学生寮も利用可能で、食事付きのプランが含まれています。各宿舎の詳細や申請方法については、合格者向けに別途ご案内します。

Important Notes for Staying in University Residences
Students who will be staying in university housing must follow its rules and restriction. They should especially be aware of the following points. (Former USTEP students have experienced similar troubles.)
Do not lose room key and return your key on the day of departure. Otherwise, you will be charged approximately 10,000yen-20,500yen + tax for a replacement.
Do not make too much noise at night – be considerate of your neighbors.
No other person can stay overnight in your room.
Submit a notice of leave to the housing office two weeks prior to your departure.
Do not damage UTokyo property – treat everything in your room with care.
You will be provided with a "Guide for Residents" when you move in. Read it carefully and keep the guidelines in mind while you are staying at your dormitories.

宿舎滞在時の諸注意
東京大学の宿舎に滞在する学生は宿舎のルールや規則を守ってください。特に以下の点に注意してください。（過去のUSTEP生が体験したトラブルでもあります）
部屋の鍵を紛失しないようにし、退去日に返却してください。返却できなかった場合は、鍵の交換のために約10,000円～20,500円＋税がかかります。
夜間に騒ぎすぎないよう、近隣住民に配慮してください。
部屋に他の人を宿泊させてはいけません。
退去の2週間前までに宿舎の事務室に退去届を提出してください。
本学の器物を壊さないように、部屋の中のものは大切に扱ってください。
宿舎入居時に、「入居の案内」が提供されます。入居の案内をよく確認し、宿舎滞在中は注意事項を念頭において生活してください。

For Students Renting Apartment Privately: Rent Guarantee Services
Ｗhen privately contracting an apartment in Japan, it is required to either [1] have a cosigner (joint guarantor) or [2] enroll in a rent guarantee service. Regarding [2] enrolling in a rent guarantee service, UTokyo CO-OP can provide UTokyo students with the rent guarantee service: “大学生協安心スマイ君 (University CO-OP Anshin Sumai-kun)” operated by a subsidiary of the University CO-OP. In some cases, however, property owner/management company may specify a rent guarantee company, so first please check with them before your application for this service.

日本において個人でマンション・アパートを契約する際は【①連帯保証人を立てる】、【②家賃債務保証サービスに加入する】ことのどちらかが必須です。このうち、【②家賃債務保証サービスへの加入】について、東京大学の学生は、東大生協では大学生協子会社が運営している「大学生協安心スマイ君」の利用が可能です。ただし、契約する賃料保証会社を指定される場合もありますので、利用の際はまず物件オーナー・管理会社に確認してみてください。
