チッタゴンは、ベンガル湾に面したバングラデシュの主要な港湾都市です。丘、海辺の景色、賑やかな市場、そして静かな住宅街があり、活気と多様性に満ちた街です。この環境は、学生たちが貿易、開発、文化を肌で感じる機会を与えてくれるだけでなく、リラックスしたり散策したりできる場所も数多く提供してくれます。

近隣には、夕日で知られるバティアリヒルズ、潮風が心地よいパテンガビーチや海軍エリア、そして緑豊かな水の庭園であるマティタなどの名所があります。都市のエネルギーと豊かな自然のバランスが、勉学と休息の両方にとって意欲をかき立てる環境を生み出しています。

Chattogram is Bangladesh’s main port city on the Bay of Bengal. It’s lively and diverse, with hills, seaside views, busy markets, and quiet neighborhoods. This setting gives students a practical window into trade, development, and culture, along with plenty of places to relax and explore.

Nearby spots include Bhatiary Hills for sunsets, Patenga Beach and the Naval Area for sea air, and the green water‑and‑gardens at Matita. The balance of city energy and natural spaces makes it a motivating place to study and to rest.

週末は、友人との食事やカフェ巡り、GECサークル（市内交通および商業の中心地）周辺の市場散策などが定番です。リフレッシュするために、丘の上のビューポイントやビーチへ向かう学生も多くいます。

長期休暇中には、グループでバングラデシュ国内を旅行し、世界で最も長い天然の砂浜があるコックスバザールや、首都ダッカの史跡などを訪れます。

キャンパス内や市内では、先住民族の日のイベントから写真展、各種フェスティバルまで、年間を通じて文化的な催しが開かれています。

Weekends often mean food with friends, café stops, and strolls through the markets around GEC Circle. Many students head to hill viewpoints or the beach to unwind.

During longer breaks, groups travel to see more of Bangladesh, including Cox’s Bazar for the world’s longest natural sea beach, or historic sites in Dhaka.

On campus and in the city, you’ll find cultural events year‑round, from Indigenous Peoples’ Day activities to photography shows and festivals. 

チッタゴンは、バングラデシュの「食の都」として知られています。地元のシーフードは格別で、新鮮なエビやヒルサ（魚の一種）、スパイシーなカニのカレーなどが名物です。

メズバン・ビーフは、地域の祝宴で供されるスパイスでじっくり煮込んだ牛肉料理で、この地を代表する伝統的な一品です。

ストリートフードも日々の生活に欠かせず、特にフチカ（揚げた生地にマッシュポテトやソースを詰めたもの）、チョットポティ（じゃがいもやひよこ豆、玉ねぎなどを用いて香辛料を効かせた料理）、香り高いカッチ・ビリヤニは学生たちに人気です。甘いものが食べたくなったら、チェナー・ジャレピ（フレッシュチーズを用いた揚げ菓子）やロシェル・チョムチョム（「チョムチョム chomchom」はベンガル地方の伝統的な菓子。ココナツや粉ミルクのフレークでコーティングする）を試してみてください。

また、モダンな雰囲気がお好みなら、伝統的なメニューから国際的なものまで揃ったカフェもたくさんあります。

Student Voice

アジア女性大学（AUW）は、バングラデシュのチッタゴンに位置する国際大学です。東南アジアから西アジアまで幅広い地域から集まった学生と一緒に学ぶことができるので、普段の授業や日常生活から新しい気付きに溢れています。また、アジア各地の政治や社会情勢について肌で触れて学ぶことができるのはとても刺激的です。学生はもちろん教授もとてもフレンドリーで、現地での学びや生活を親身になって支えてくれるので、とてもアットホームな雰囲気で安心して学ぶことができます。

Asian University for Women (AUW) is an international university located in Chattogram, Bangladesh. Because you get to study with students from a wide range of regions, from Southeast to West Asia, your everyday classes and daily life are filled with new discoveries. It is also very stimulating to learn firsthand about the political and social situations across different parts of Asia. The students and professors are both very friendly and will personally support your studies and life there, so you can learn with peace of mind in a very welcoming, at-home atmosphere.
