Research diary 3
I researched about the solution of the problem which is my first and second research. Some of foreign children face to language barrier in Japan. And also, they cannot go to school or cannot take education because they don’t understand Japanese. In Japanese schools, a JSL (Japanese as a Second Language) curriculum designed by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology has been implemented.
However, there is a huge gap between children who are not able to speak any Japanese at all and the children for whom the JSL program was designed. In a cosmopolitan city like Shinjuku, an early Japanese language support program has long been necessary. For approximately the past ten years, the city has provided preliminary Japanese instruction, ‘Japanese language support program’, for non-Japanese schoolchildren. I found the article which focuses on this early Japanese language support program in Shinjuku. It analyzes its merits and limits, and then considers the issues for the future.
I wrote pictures a list to understand content of problems easily. I think graph or picture in my notebook increased more and more. It is easy to understand my research and it is easy for me to explain about my research. I think the balance between pictures and sentences is very important to tell my research to someone.
