The Runner

Most people do it as a hobby

Or maybe to stay in shape

But running is just like a normal job

You practice a lot

You work hard 100 percent of the time

Just because people do it for fun doesn't mean runners aren't working

Google work. The definition is an activity involving mental or physical effort done in order to achieve a purpose or result.

To run you need great physical health. A strong body. But running is also a mental sport.

If you believe you can run, you believe you can finish that marathon, you can.

Achieve a goal. If you were to connect that with running you would think of winning a race.

But it's not just that. For some people a purpose could be to lose weight or exercise more.

Or it could be finish a mile or a 5k or a marathon

There's more than what you think

People enjoy running. They embrace running. You don't fight it. You accept it and keep going.

When I run, I don't think about now. I think about how I can improve. What can be different. What can be better

Training is work. Professionals put in long hours running, getting strong.

When you visualize work you think of someone at an office.

Working is not just that. Working is something

Pretend work is right in front of you

Reach out and grab it

Keep doing it. Never stop

You see work everywhere

It can be that crossing guard of that man who is always at the local soccer field

It can also be a coach.

Coaches have hard jobs also.

Think about it

They train you. Spend hours thinking up workouts, plays, strategies

They know how to work you

Make you stronger

Perform better

They support you

They help you

They are also doing hard work

Running is an activity but also work

I am even working writing this piece

When you think about it, everything could be work.

Work can be anything that you want it to be

Anything you do to achieve a goal

Working is not only a guy in a suit and tie sitting at a desk on a computer

Or a farmer spending long hours working on the his crops

Work can be easy or hard

Work comes in many different shapes and sizes just like humans

It is a special bond, a cycle

That connects us all

This is work
