Chef George was born and raised in Utah. He moved to Phoenix, Arizona when he was 22 to work at Spork, one of the best pizza restaurants in the world. One of the main attractions is that Chef George creates a different vegetable design on the pizza every night. Even though Spork has been open for less than eight months, it is very popular. Spork is so popular that in order to get into the restaurant, people have to make their reservations weeks before. The restaurant will be one year old on November 20, 2017. This creative restaurant is owned by Chef George’s best friend growing up. Because the sun in Phoenix is scorching, the restaurant is only open from 5 to 12 PM so the guests can enjoy the sparkling sky. The most unique feature about the restaurant is the architecture; the restaurant is outdoors except for the kitchen. Another element of the restaurant is its pizza. The most popular pizza at Spork is Chef George’s special pizza; a fresh, colorful, fragrant dish. It is made with carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes, red onions, yellow peppers, red peppers, and green peppers. The vegetables are freshly picked in Virginia by the Kyrie Company and are shipped directly to Spork every week. There are so many vegetables on this pizza that the pizza covers the entire dinner table!
Walk through the back door of the restaurant into the kitchen, and you will find Chef George washing his cucumbers. Chef George has mastered his craft and is so confident that he looks like he is barely focusing and works so fast. It is a beautiful Friday night and he is creating one of his favorite pizza designs: SPORK. Whenever he creates his pizza, he washes the vegetables in a special order. First he washes the cucumbers, then the onions. Chef George then washes the peppers, and followed by the carrots. Finally he cleans the tomatoes because they are the easiest to wash. After all the colorful vegetables are washed, Chef George quickly cuts them with his special knife. When he designs, he fiercely concentrates. He slowly puts the peppers and onions on the dough to make an S. Afterward, he precisely places one carrot and a piece of the tomato for the P. For the O, he puts cucumber strips in a perfect circle and adds four tomatoes in the center. When Chef George creates the R, he elegantly lays two carrots and another tomato. Finally he positions three carrots for the K. After spending a lot of time creating a special dish, he is tempted to eat it. However, he remembers that this pizza is not for him.
