Segments are used when you want to gather certain contacts in one place to either keep track of them or take certain actions on them (like sending an email). Examples can be: Certain roles or titles (like "CEOs" or "IT manager"), signed up for newsletter or "Interested in service A"

You have both rule-based segments and static segments in Mautic. In rule-based lists, you set certain filters and the segment will automatically keep itself updated based on these rules. Static segments have to be avtively populated by you and the members will stay until you actively remove them.

Note: Contacts that have been added to a rule-based segment manually or through a campaign (automation) will not adhere to the segment rules but are treated as static members. I.e you will manually have to remove them from the list, they will not be removed automatically.

Tips for former FunnelBud Pro users:

• Unlike in FunnelBud Pro (SharpSpring) you can delete a segment in FunnelBud Go without deleting the contacts in it. So any segment that is no longer in use can be directly deleted, not only de-activated.
