If a student is in a private or home school educational setting, the school district is to provide special education services for eligible students (qualify for special education through an evaluation process) based on the amount of Proportionate Share funding in the district IDEA grant that is allocated for the current school year.
If the district has $0 funding for the current school year, then the district will create a Service Plan to start to following school year.
The district will need to track the amount of money used to provide special education services to the student, even if the student is being provided the services on campus.
Once the funding for the year has been reached $0 (total of all private/home school students), then the district is no longer obligated to provide services until the next funding year (next school year).
