Tech Updates from Edward

Tuesday Tech Tips is a weekly blog that contains interesting technology tips, articles, and videos.

Seesaw Update: We are still working on the Seesaw Archive class issue. Meanwhile teachers can manage ( add / remove) their class rosters. Click for directions for How to add students to your class.

Tech Support for Parents and Students: Please remind parents and students to use the Tech Support, Chromebook Repair Request and Request for a (First Time) Chromebook and/or Hotspot for Technical Support. The link is located FTPS Website on the left-hand side under the Tech Needs and Resources for 20-21School Year. Zoom/ Chromebook Project: Over the next two weeks we will be tracking Chromebook and Zoom issues. If your student is experiencing any Chromebook connectivity issues using Zoom please have the student or you report this issue using this form.

Instructional Technologies Support Form for FTPS Staff: In order to provide you with the support needed, we ask that you complete the Instructional Technology Programs Help Form so that we can respond in a timely manner to all the requests. This form is for the following Instructional Technology Programs: Seesaw, Zoom, iReady, Link it, Clever, Genesis, Ready Rosie, Imagine Math, Studies Weekly and Google Classroom/Meet. This will ensure that we have all the necessary information.

GoGuardian YouTube Channel and Video Filtering: In Go Guardian I have created three profiles for YouTube filtering: Elementary (K-5), Middle School (6-8) and FHS (9-12). Please complete the FTPS YouTube Channel or YouTube Video Request Form if you would like to request a YouTube Channel or YouTube video be allowed for students. Currently, Educational YouTube Videos or YouTube Channels are allowed. Please allow 24 - 48 for your request to be processed.

Technology Training: Check out our Instructional Technology Training Calendar for the various tech training courses provided by Technology Coaches, Tech Trainers and me.

For all Instructional Technology Resources and Support for FTPS Administrators, Teachers, Staff, Parents and Students go to the FTPS Remote Learning Technology Resources Website. The link is located FTPS Website on the left-hand side under the Tech Needs and Resources for 20-21School Year.

That's it for now!

Need an idea of where to place your Zoom link in Google Classroom so it stays on the front page? If you go to the main page where all of your classrooms are, click the three dots on the classroom you want to use. Then click edit and you will see a box with the name of the course. Under that, you will see “section”. Paste the link there and it will save in the heading of your classroom! Students can copy and paste the link right from there!

Have a Wonderful Tech Week!
