February 6th, 2026 - Volume 13
Dear Viking Families,
February kicks off a Habit 6 focus: Synergize. “Synergy works; it’s a correct principle. It is the crowning achievement of all the previous habits. It is effectiveness in an interdependent reality - it is teamwork, team building, the development of unity and creativity with other human beings. Although you cannot control the paradigms of others in an interdependent interaction or the synergistic process itself, a great deal of synergy is within your Circle of Influence,” (Covey, p. 327).
I hope you enjoyed our first Student Leadership Notebook night. Being able to see how your child is progressing toward their WIG is so important for them to understand that setting goals and achieving them is possible, even when the goals are hard. The next night will be
Both of our new playground pieces of equipment are installed and in use! At least the days warm enough to play outside. Please see the pictures below. Again, a huge thank you to PTO and Boosterthon and you and every student and staff member at VCE for their participation and work to make this happen.
Tonight is our Family Valentine Dance! Be sure to stop by the Parent Lighthouse Team in the cafeteria. You can hear from VCE parents how the Habits work at home and the bridge they build to help families come together. Please remember next week is a short week with Friday the 13th an Early Release day, and Monday the 16th and Tuesday the 17th off for students.
As always, please don't hesitate to reach out with questions, concerns, or ideas. You help us tell our story and it is one we are most proud of. Your support helps us see things through a different lens and we appreciate when you share with us your perspectives. Feel free to email me at eihle@forsyth.k12.ga.us. Our next newsletter will be published February 20th.

Our PLT (Parent Lighthouse Team) serves to build the bridge between school and home to bring the 8 Habits to families. Through collaboration, education, and leaeership they aim to build a strong community of confident, joyful learners and compassionate leaders. They have been instrumental in helping us partner with other Leader In Me schools who need warm clothes putting our lost & found items to good use. They are currenlty leading the efforts to create a VCE Habit Garden in the front of our school. You may notice some new rocks and a large pallet of stones - all part of the bigger plan to beautify our space with the 8 Habits and the framework we embody to create and sustain a community igniting the joy of learning and inspiring leaders. If you would like to volunteer your time or resources to help this initiative, please reach out to Ashley Johnson at aejohnson@forsyth.k12.ga.us for more information. Stay Tuned!
Watch our journey as we turn the front island of our school into a VCE Habit Garden! Thanks to our Parent Lighthouse Team, all mulch, plants, pavers, and rocks have been generously donated by local businesses including Southern Landscape Supply and 4 Tree Service.
We are so grateful for Garrett Schafer, State Farm continued support as a Partner in Education at our school. Their generosity and commitment help make so many of our programs, events, and opportunities possible for our students and families. We truly appreciate their investment in our community and the positive impact they make each day.
