May 1st, 2026 - Volume 18
Hello VCE Families,
As we begin the final descent to wrap up 2025 - 2026, I am so very proud of your children. They have thrived. They have struggled. They have overcome challenges and have readjusted their own paradigms of their learning and leading. They are leaders.
This final month we are focused on the paradigms. We begin the school year with this focus and now that we have learned each Habit, we end the year on these beliefs.
Everyone can be a Leader
Everyone has Genius
Change Starts with Me
Empower Students to Lead their Learning
We partner with families and Communities to develop the whole person
As students reflect on their year and look ahead to where they are headed, this is a time for them to recognize their unique personal significance. Through this they become empowered to inspire others. We are a community igniting the joy of learning and inspiring leaders.
Please note the many events still to come this year. Please remind your children to end the year strong. If your child struggles with changes in schedules and routines, please remind them of upcoming changes as we will here at school.
The Friday before Spring Break was the last day parents could come in and eat lunch with their children. It was two weeks earlier than we closed the year before due to a change in testing schedule. That Friday we had over 150 parents on campus eating with their child. Our Butterfly Garden was full. And since there were so many, families shared their table to accommodate the lack of space for everyone. It was a beautiful opportunity for families to meet unexpectedly for lunch.
As a result, we have decided to welcome parents in for lunch two additional days this school year. If you would like to come and eat with your child on May 8th and May 15th, you are welcome to. We encourage you to purchase lunch in our cafeteria as well!
Our final newsletter of the 2025-2026 school year will be May 15th. In it you will find summer building hours, communication information, and our back to school events and open house information. I look forward to seeing you throughout this month!
With gratitude,
Elizabeth

Please click below to RSVP to attend your child's class party and field day. The deadline to RSVP is May 8th at 3:00 pm. When you enter, you will "skip the line" and head to the table for your badge. If you do not RSVP, please bring your driver's license and check-in at the desk with Ms. Kelly. As a reminder, if you have not visited our school before, you will need to scan your driver's license and check-in at the front desk with Ms. Kelly. Please make sure you RSVP for each child, as these forms are grade-level specific.
Our awesome 5th graders and their teachers have partnered with CURE Childhood Cancer to put together Boredom Buster Bags for children enduring long hospital stays due to cancer treatments. Help our 5th graders make an impact and bring comfort, joy, and distraction to these children. This service project is in memory and honor of former VCE leader, Luke Becker. Please consider donating an item for the Boredom Buster Bags - either from our Amazon Wishlist, or by grabbing an item from the suggested list on your next trip to the store. Kindly send in all donations by Tuesday, May 12th.

We are excited to share a preview of our schoolwide behavior expectations that will be implemented at VCE for the 2026-2027 school year. After gathering feedback from teachers, students, and parents, we have developed a shared set of expectations, in alignment with our Leader in Me habits and utilizing the PBIS framework, to support all of our leaders in common areas throughout the school. We are excited to encourage all of our Vikings to be Responsible, Respectful, and Ready to Lead!
Recently, VCE performed The Lion King at the Forsyth County Arts and Learning Center. What a fantastic job they did! Please scroll through to see a few photos of the event.
