Supporting Students with Tech Tools

The Media Group aimed to promote student well-being by destigmatizing the use of digital support tools.

Purpose

This year, the media project group worked together to develop a brochure highlighting tech tools that students can use to support their learning. The intent of this project is to destigmatize the use of support resources and to make these tools more accessible to students. When choosing which tools to include in this brochure, students considered the following:

To support the development of this project, students participated in digital citizenship sessions hosted by the Division’s Technology, Integration & Planning Supports (TIPs) team, and worked with a subject matter expert to review the tools and instructions for clarity and accuracy.

Engagement

This brochure was created on the website “Canva” and was also made available as a print version (delivered to EPSB high schools by Student Senators). To access the instructions for each tool highlighted in the brochure, students can scan a QR code. This directs students to an “Instructional Guide” page. The link to the brochure was also shared with the TIPs team as a resource that can be used in their work with schools.
