2020-21 Student Senate Work
During the 2020-2021 school year Student Senate chose to focus on the topic of "Amplifying the Voices of Black, Indigenous and Students of Colour." To achieve this, Student Senators have created club packages, a magazine, a podcast series and workshop materials.
Senators have developed a set of club packages including interviews with students within the Division who have done commendable work amplifying the work of Black, Indigenous and Students of Colour, as well as book and movie recommendations.
Senators curated a magazine that focuses on amplifying the voices of Black, Indigenous and Students of Colour. The working title of the magazine is "Our Authentic Voices."
Senators recorded a series of podcasts that aim to amplify the voices of Black, Indigenous and Students of Colour. Podcasts feature interviews with guests including EPSB students and staff members. The working title of the podcast is "Senate Speaks."
Senators created and hosted a live workshop to raise awareness about racism with junior high and high school students.
