As part of their 2019-2020 work plan, the Student Senate was planning a symposium on the topic of life skills for high school students in Edmonton Public Schools. Student Senators were in the process of arranging all aspects of the symposium, including the program, promotions and logistics when the difficult decision to cancel the event due to COVID-19 was made.

Many of the community members scheduled to present at the symposium offered to support Division students through personal messages. These are intended to provide students with personal perspectives and insights to support the overall development of life skills.
