Katie Belitsky

Hi! I'm Katherine Belitsky, a Cast Leader at Cineplex Odeon North Edmonton and student at Concordia University of Edmonton. I am 19 years old, love all kinds of music, plays/musicals, and my friends.

A major setback I encountered in life was my mental health. My issues with mental health not only stopped me from reaching my goals and loving life but also caused me to struggle with loving myself. Fortunately, through perseverance and the correct help, I have been able to become a person I am learning to love. While I still have some setbacks, I know that I have people around me that are here to support me and I have also learned that things really do get better and they won’t always stay bad. Some pieces of advice I would give to someone are, no matter how cheesy it sounds; life really does get better - I’ve seen it with my own eyes. Don’t bottle things up. And most importantly, it's probably just a bad day, not a bad life.

I believe a defining choice everyone makes is to be happy, it’s something my dad and I have always said. While it is hard to claim that happiness is a choice when life feels at its worst, it is completely dependent on how one faces and deals with life as well as their own happiness. People can respond to this choice by choosing what's best and even when times are tough, pushing through to still find joy in everything.
