Subscribing to a users calendar will give you access to see whether they are busy or not. It will not give full details of the event. It saves you time of searching for that user everytime and give you a little check box to hide or show their calendar schedule and yours. The steps below will show you how to subscribe to a users calendar:
1. From your Calendar tab you are going to hover over your personal calendar. Until you see the ellipsis.
2. Clicking on the ellipsis will get you the "Settings and sharing" option.
3. When you open the settings window at the top left you are going to see "Add Calendar"
4. Select "Subscribe to Calendar"
5. It will prompt you to enter the person whose Calendar you want to access.
6. After typing in the user's email address in the field, when you press. Enter, their calendar will appear under "Settings for other calendars." When you go back to your calendar, you can show or hide them by clicking the check box next to their name.
* Be mindful that this function will only show you whether they are busy or not. It will not have full details.
If you would like to give someone specific access to your calendar with special permissions, such as adding apointments, sharing your calendar or showing your event details. Follow these 5 steps below:
1. In your Calendar Settings and Sharing, click on your name "Settings for my calendars" under your name.
2. Select "Share with specific people or groups"
3. In this drop down you are going to click on add people and groups.
4. You are going to type in the person or group you want to give access to.
5. Then select the access they have in your calendar. You can see whether you are bust or free, details of your events, changes to your events, or share your calendar with others.
Once you complete the above steps, whomever you share your calendar with will receive an email alerting them that you shared their calendar and giving them the chance to add your calendar view to their calendar.
