Well… all that just kinda happened, didn’t it?
On the 11 of January, Nintendo livestreamed a fifteen minute, announced Nintendo Direct, an annual livestream detailing the announcements and teasers for their new games and addons, and boy did they not hold back on this one. Probably cause they didn’t have to, because the announcements weren’t that overwhelming.
They announced ports of Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze and Hyrule Warriors for the Switch. I can see why they ported Tropical Freeze, but but Hyrule Warriors already has releases on the 3DS and WiiU, so they don’t really need to re-release it again. But they did add new costumes for Link and Zelda based on Breath of the wild, which is cool. Not something I’d rebuy the game for, but cool.
They also announced that Dark Souls Remastered will be released on the platform as well. Which is cool. I’m not much of a Dark Souls fan myself, considering I am completely terrible at it, so I don’t have much of a love for it, but it’s good it’ll get released on the Switch.
And finally, they announced DLC for Mario & Rabbids and Odyssey. I’m glad their two best games are still getting love after their release and not at all getting new updates to beg for relevance. But to be honest, I love Donkey Kong in Rabbids and the Sunshine costume is the greatest thing I’ve seen in my life.
I’m probably over generalizing, and I probably missed a lot, but that's my recap and opinions on the January 11th Mini Nintendo Direct.
