Songwriting Workshops!
Nathan Timothy from The Songwriting Charity came into school to help us to write our leavers’ songs, which we will debut in our Leavers’ Assembly on the last day of term. They were a fantastic two days and we look forward to sharing them with you!
On Friday 4th July, our wonderful PA put on the Summer discos. Year 6 stayed for an extra hour at the end to mark the final days of 7 years at primary school. We danced, sang, showed our 'Just Dance' talents, and posed in the EFPS 2025 leavers' frame. Thank you to the PA for a fabulous tuck shop (I think Year 6 bought all of the unicorn rings and bows!) and to Skittleman for his great tunes.
On Monday 7th July, Year 6 were entrepreneurs for the day. With our initial funding of £15 per group, we came up with our business idea, made our own resources, created our own marketing posters, decorated our stalls and bought enough prizes to run our shop. We then invited the rest of the school into the marquee to spend their money. Our stalls were all based around fairground and carnival entertainment such as 'Hook-a-Duck' and 'Coconut Shy' and the rest of the school had a great time taking part. We ran a competition between ourselves to see who could make the most money and all proceeds have been put together with he donations from our Alice performance to give to the Songwriting Charity - the company who wrote our leavers songs with us. Well done Year 6!
On Tuesday 8th July, EFPS held their Macmillan Coffee Morning in the marquee. Year 6 helped to deliver cakes, collect entries and we even managed to enjoy a few treats and drink with our families to support the wonderful work carried out my Macmillan Nurses. Thank you for coming and supporting this lifechanging cause.
We were honoured this week to be invited over to the Fitzwmarc School to watch their end of year performance of 'Oliver' with many of our ex-pupils. Year 6 really enjyed themselves and were inspired to get involved in the drama and performances available when they join secondary school later in the year. Well done to all involved - it was a brilliant show!
