Multiplying and Dividing by 10, 100 and 1000
Mrs Reynolds' maths group have been working on how to multiply and divde number by powers of 10. We know that we must move our digits up or down the place value chart depending on whether we are multiplying or dividing. We can understand whether we need place holders and where to place them. This half term we learned to 'be the digit' by drawing the place value chart on the playground in chalk, using a plastic mat as a decimal point and then moving ourselves between the places to complete the maths problems.
