We have now made our clay lighthouses and we are going to be writing a set of instructions about how to make them. We have learned a text off by heart this week and will use this to help us write next week.

We have been reading the story of The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch. It is the backbone of all of our work at the moment; we are writing the story; we have found out about real lighthouses and we are going to make a lighthouse out of clay. We are going to try to make a lighthouse with a light that lights up, so we have been investigating simple circuits.

We have been learning how to multiply by making arrays using peg boards, counters and big spots. We have also learned how to multiply by grouping.

We have been using our computing and English skills to follow a set of instructions and create a computer image that reflects the instructions.

We have now finished our lighthouses! They have been painted and today we learnt how to create a circuit to light up the bulb.
