Values Tokens
Our School Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) values are to Be a Learner, Be Responsible, Be Respectful and Be Safe. Our tokens system uses a 'fast and free' approach. Any time you see positive behaviour occurring in class or the playground, tokens may be given to reward expected behaviours.
F-2 Values Jars
Whole School Rewards Jars
A child can receive a Values Token (see left) for displaying any of the SWPBS values. These tokens are placed in a class jar. Once any value jar has 15 tokens in it, the class choose a whole class reward, as well as receiving a black token that contributes to a whole school reward.
Individual Token Jars
Rewards Menu
A child can receive a Values Token for displaying any of the SWPBS values. These tokens are placed in an individual jar that the children keep on their desks. Once a child receives 5, 10 or 15 tokens, they may choose an individual reward from a menu that was co-constructed by each class. Students in Years 5 and 6 can also receive white 'Leadership' tokens for displaying leadership traits. These individual rewards also contribute black tokens to the whole school reward.
Specialist Token Tracker
A child can receive a Values Token for displaying any of the SWPBS values. This data is collected on a class sheet and is kept separate for each specialist. Once a child receives 5 specialist tokens of any colour, they can choose a small individual reward.
Here is a guide for how often tokens should be distributed:
Values Tokens: Multiple times a day
Filling a class/individual jar: Once a week
Specialist Reward: Once a term
Whole School Reward: Once/twice a term
