Watch the two video segements below and brainstorm an animation sequence of your own. Do you have a story to tell?
There are many materials readily available in your home that can become raw material for your animation. What might you like to try your hand on? 2 D or 3 D animation?
Start with storyboarding your idea, breaking it down into scenes. The pow comic strip app is helpful and fun to use.
Consider the music and narration you might like to use, indicate close ups and wide shots. Create some dramatic tension, or show a transition or movement sequence.
Experimentation and creativity are just as important as forward planning and preparation. Discuss your ideas with a friend via Facetime or Skype (seeking parental permission first) Malleable materials (aluminium foil, plasticine, wire armatures ..) can be used to create characters.
Simple animation apps are available. We have used stop motion studio previously and found it excellent for this context.. You may want to use an app you are already familiar with or indeed try a new one. Start with a simple idea to begin with and branch out from there.
