Mount Pleasant Road Primary School and Kindergarten

Learning @ Home

I would like to extend a warm welcome to all our Kindergarten and Primary School families.

Much of what we have assembled to support students at home is general in nature and not all tasks may be suitable for all students. Teachers have spent a great deal of time curating the resources that connect with our curriculum but will also be open ended in nature and can be revisited a number of times.

We have also included links that have a number of quality resources such as books and educational games.

While children are out of school here are some points to help keep things normal at home.

  1. Stick to a schedule. Try to stick to regular bed times and meal times.

  2. Involve your children in planning for the day.

  3. Take advantage of the online learning sites and this web site developed by your child's own teachers.

  4. Keep active. Make sure to dedicate time to being outdoors and exercising.

  5. Think about new hobbies and interests. Planting in the garden, cooking healthy meals, drawing and/or writing a journal.

  6. Talk to your children about what is going on. They might find it difficult to understand what they are seeing online or on TV – or hearing from other people but having an open, supportive discussion with your children can help them understand and cope. We hope that you find the site helpful.
