Narrative writing tells a story. It describes an experience, event or sequence of events. We tell by describing the characters, setting and the beginning, middle and end.

Command verb are also important.

Poetry is a creative form of writing which children can also decorate. Poems can be rhyming or simply follow a pattern.
Acrostic
A poem where a letter in each line forms a word or phrase when read in sequence.
