Writing

Select an activity to complete and take a photo or upload a copy of each one to your files on Google Classroom.
Remember to always make a copy of any Google Apps to keep for yourself!

Challenge yourself to do an activity more than once.

Activity 1 - Free Choice Writing

Activity 4 - Persuasive Text

Create your own Persuasive Text.

Think about the following topics and create a persuasive text following the structure.

Why should there be a school canteen at every school?
Why should every school participate in Respectful Relationships Education?
Should there be a Student Voice subject taught at school? What would it be and why?

Activity 5 - Narrative Ideas

Look through the Making the Most of your Ideas slides.

When we write, sometimes we feel like we need to create a fantastic new story every time we do a narrative piece.

Work through the activities on each slide, tweaking one narrative idea to fit each different prompt.

Narrative Prompts

Activity 6 - Narrative Story Graph

Think about your favourite animated movie of all time.

Watch the movie with your family, and together discuss how the plot fits into the Narrative Story Graph. You may need to teach your family about each of the steps!

Activity 7 - Information Report

Carefully analyse the Information Report Writing anchor chart.

Think about a topic you are interested in to create an Information Report on.

Remember, Information Reports only state facts so try to avoid adding your opinion into the text.

Some topics include: Cybersaftey measures, health care in developing countries, sustainable living, importance of considering your entire wellbeing.

Activity 8 - Song Analysis

Choose a song you know to analyse.
Ask yourself: Does it have a message? Does it use emotive language? Does it call for action? Is it age appropriate?

Present this as an info-graphic.

Refer to the slide for some tips!
