Here are some ideas for practising fine motor skills. You can find this table in your Foundation Information Pack given distributed at the end of last year. These skills are very important for your child to develop as they help lay the foundation to complete every day activities such as tying shoelaces, using utensils and holding a pencil. Strong fine motor skills will help your child with their writing and drawing skills.
Practise writing your name, use a grey lead and have a go at using a capital letter at the start followed by lower case letters.
You could even head outside and practise writing your name with chalk.
Have a go at drawing about some of the things that you have been doing. You could even write a letter to your teacher!!
Draw a picture of your family. Label the people and pets in your picture. Remember, your family are special people and they get a capital letter at the start of their name!
Write about your favourite thing to do with your family.
Have a go at writing all of the letters of the alphabet! Don't forget, we have capital and lower case letters.
Can you draw a picture that starts with each letter of the alphabet? Maybe you can write a word that starts with each letter!!
