Attendance

You are expected by the school [and NSW law] to be at school every day that the school is open unless there is a good reason for not attending. If you are absent, you have to bring in a note from your parent/caregiver explaining why you were away or your parent can reply to the text message automatically generated by your absence. Attendance is checked every morning at roll call and every lesson during the day.

Arrival at School

When you get to school you are required to go straight to the amphitheatre or to the active area where supervision is available after 8:30am. This means that you do not loiter at your bus stop, outside the school fence or in any out-of-bounds area. This is a safety measure and we call it ‘The 8:30 Rule’.

Leave passes.

If you need to leave the school for a legitimate reason during the day, you will need a letter written and signed by your parent/caregiver. This letter must be brought to the office before school on the morning of the partial absence.  You then come back at recess to the office to collect your leave pass which must be handed back in to the office when you return to school

What if I’m late to school?

If you arrive late to school, you must report to the office, either with your parent/caregiver, or with a note signed by them stating the reason for your lateness. The explanation must be valid, for example, a medical appointment or car troubles (‘Slept in’ is not a satisfactory reason). You will then be given a late note which will allow you to go straight to class. If you are regularly late to school without a satisfactory explanation, the Deputy will become involved.
