You are welcome to contact the school at any time to discuss the behaviour, progress and welfare of your children. In these situations, your first point of contact will be the office staff. They will refer your enquiry or concern to the appropriate staff member. This will generally be the classroom teacher, the Head Teacher of the relevant faculty or the Student Adviser. As he/she will often be teaching or on duty, he/she will ring you back so that you can discuss your child in some detail over the phone or if necessary, arrange a suitable time for a personal interview. Remember that your child is one of up to 180 students in the year and you may have to allow a few days for the Student Adviser to gather specific information from your child’s teachers before any such appointment.
The office staff may also refer your call to other staff members who may be better able to answer your questions or address any concerns you may have such as the subject Head Teachers, Deputy Principal, Principal, Careers Adviser, Welfare Support or School Counsellor. This will probably be the case if you are a ‘first time’ Wagga High parent, but as you become more familiar with the school, our staff and procedures, you will know who to ask for. For example, if you are concerned about your child’s progress in a particular subject, you should leave a message for the teacher [or the Head Teacher of that faculty] to contact you
