This course provides knowledge, understanding and skills that allow the opportunity for students to make informed arguments for the maintenance of biodiversity and the sustainable use of marine ecosystems. They will be involved in project development relating to coastal areas and other water-related environments, as well as water-related enterprises and leisure activities.
Marine and Aquaculture Technology provides for both theory and practical learning, honing students’ acquired skills to solve real-life problems. By studying this subject students develop technological and scientific literacy. They increase their capacity to think critically by calling upon a wide range of knowledge, procedures and approaches to analyse issues and develop solutions
Coursework
In a 100 hour course, student complete Core 1 and five option modules. In a 200 hour course, students complete Core 1 and 2, and 11 option modules

Any student can attempt this course. This course is helpful for those students who enjoy aquatic experiences or are attempting to enter local or other training relevant to aquatic environments.
