Agriculture and its associated industries contribute significantly to Australia’s economic, social and cultural development and influence Australia’s prosperity through investment, employment of skilled workers, consumption of products from other sectors, and export of raw products and processed goods.
Through the study of Agricultural Technology in Years 7–10 students develop knowledge, understanding and skills which enable them to contribute positively to their own lifestyle and to the social, economic and environmental future of Australia
To satisfy the mandatory requirements of a 100-hour course, students must complete the essential content covering Core A covering two agricultural enterprises eg Beef and Vegetable production. To satisfy a 200 hour course, students must complete Core A and B within four agricultural enterprises.
