Students study mandatory Geography for one semester per year in Stage 5. The year 9 course is made up of two units: Sustainable Biomes and Changing Places.
In this course students study the key questions of our physical and social worlds such as:
· How can humanity feed ourselves into the future?
· How can we manage human movement and change sustainably?
Geography is an engaging and dynamic subject that is future focused. It requires development of many essential 21st Century skills around investigating, researching, analysing, communicating and working in teams.
Coursework
Assessment is varied allowing students to demonstrate their knowledge in multiple ways. Types of assessment tasks include written examinations, fieldwork reports and research projects.
Students revise and develop skills, knowledge and values through a variety of activities including ICT, research, quizzes and group work tasks.

Geography is inclusive of the learning needs of all students. Including Mainstream, Gifted and Talented, Life Skills and those interested in learning and connecting people and places towards improved lives.
